The information and regulations contained herein only apply to citizens from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Nationals from other countries are kindly requested to enquire about the regulations that apply to them when booking the cruise at their travel agency or with the consulate respectively embassy in charge of them. As some of the required visa are only valid for a limited time and because visa regulations may change, we kindly ask you to await receipt of the travel information which will be sent to you approx. three months prior to the start of the cruise before applying for your visa. General Information Regarding Vaccination Requirements T he traveller should enquire about infection and vaccine protection as well as other prophylactic measures in due time; if applicable, it is advisable to consult a doctor regarding thrombosis and other health risks as well as vaccine intolerances. We recommend that you take into account general information, especially if it is provided by health authorities, doctors who specialise in tropical medicine or medical information services for travellers. A s a basic principle, you should ascertain whether your previous tetanus, diphtheria and polio vaccinations are still effective and have repeat vaccinations performed if necessary. A yellow fever vaccination must be performed at least ten days before entering the country in which a yellow fever vaccination is mandatory and has to be recorded on the vaccines record card. If the vaccination is performed at a later stage, it will not be effective yet and entry into the country will be denied. In this context, please take note of the information provided below to find out on which cruises a yellow fever vaccination is mandatory. Please note that in some cases a (yellow fever) vaccination cannot be administered due to intolerances. Please consult your doctor in due time. If you do not have an effective yellow fever vaccination and evidence of the latter, embarkation on the ship will not be possible. Please refer to Item 4 of our Terms and Conditions of Travel. Under certain circumstances, a written confirmation of vaccine intolerance may be sufficient. However, we cannot guarantee that the latter will be accepted by the respective local authorities in every individual case. General Information Regarding Entry and Visa Requirements G enerally unless indicated otherwise a valid passport respectively childrens ID card is required which must be valid for at least six months after the end of the cruise. F or entering and leaving some countries (especially outside Western Europe) your passport needs to feature two facing blank pages per country. Therefore, please check just in time whether your passport meets these requirements for the cruise you have booked. P otential entry and visa fees are not included in the cruise price. V arious states have issued import regulations for certain medicines. Please acquaint yourself with these regulations in good time before booking your cruise, for instance on the relevant website of the Federal Foreign Office. P lease consult your travel agency concerning the current entry requirements of each of the countries you will be travelling to on your cruise. Your travel agency will gladly assist you in obtaining the required individual visa. Note 1 (Group) Visa upon arriving with the ship or upon entr y (an additional fee may be charged). Note 2 Individual visa required. If you have an Israeli stamp in your passport, you will be refused entr y to this countr y. Note 3 Passengers do not require a visa to go ashore if doing so as part of a shore excursion booked with Hapag-Lloyd Cruises or if indi
vidual arrangements have been made. As soon as you separate from the group and/or do anything individually (without arranging this with Hapag-Lloyd Cruises), you will need a separate visa. Note 4 For citizens from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the identity card is sufficient for entry. Nationals of other countries are requested to enquire about the regulations that apply to them when booking the cruise at their travel agency or with the consulate respectively embassy in charge of them. A fee is charged for the processing of the application which can exclusively be paid by credit card (Mastercard, VISA, American Express, Discover) or debit

card. In the case of bookings via a travel agency, the fee may also be paid using the corporate credit card of the travel agency. The payment may also be effected by third parties, e. g. relatives or friends. For further information on this matter please consult the Internet on https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta and in your travel agency. In addition to the electronic travel permit, you require the following travel documents to enter the USA: Passports issued after 26 October 2005 need to contain a digital photograph (not glued or laminated onto the passport). In addition, passports issued after 26 October 2006 need to feature biometric data in
the shape of a chip. Passports with a machine-readable zone that were issued before 26 October 2005 entitle travellers to enter the USA without a visa until they expire. Holders of non-machine readable passports, e. g. temporar y passports, are not entitled to enter the USA without a visa in that case, you require a US visa. This regulation also applies to children (from birth). Ever y child requires his/her own European passport. It is not possible for them to enter the countr y with a childrens ID card or an entr y in the parents passport. A photo as well as fingerprints are taken of ever y guest as they enter the countr y.
