1. Package Naming Convention


XXX_AABB.CCDD.EEFF.GGHH_Description_OsSupport Where: XXX = Customer acronym AABB.CCDD.EEFF.GGHH = Package Version o AABB: Branch field, value denotes the main SW branch. o CCDD: Milestone field, SW release identifier comprising: CC = Major value DD = Minor value o EEFF Characterization field, identifies supported product type and customer: EE = Product Identifier: PC NIC Windows = 00 PC SDI Windows = 01 PC USB Windows = 02 PC NIC Linux = 10 PC SDI Linux = 11 PC USB Linux = 12 FF = Customer Identifier o GGHH Sequence Field, defines the build state and iteration. 2. Overview
This delivery provides the latest Broadcom software release, and includes the following packages: Setup.exe INF_DriverOnly = Driver & BCM Service Setup Package = Driver Only

4. New Features
Feature Fast Resume Description WLAN utility maintains a preferred AP list, used to prioritize fast reconnection upon system resume. When system resumes, the driver issues a fast scan on the channels listed in the preferred list, and if a preferred AP is detected, the utility launches the renewed connection.

9. Hardware Requirements
Software is expected to only be run on a mobile system with a minimum configuration of Pentium 300 MHz and 128 MB of RAM. The customer will control the distribution method of the software to ensure it is only preinstalled and web released for qualified mobile systems.

Installation Requirements and Instructions

12.1. Install Instructions


The following command-line switches are available options for installation. This is a fully inclusive listing; options supported will vary with respect to delivered package content:

Setup.exe -justdriver Install the driver only, and not the tray service. Setup.exe -noccx This will not install EAP plugins and disables the CCX support. This command line option is for Vista/Win7 and not applicable to WinXP. Setup.exe -extract_all:[Destination Folder] Extracts all the files from the package to the specified folder. Setup.exe -f1[path\ResponseFile] Specifies an alternate location and name of the response file (.iss file). If this option is used when running InstallShield Silent, the response file is read from the folder/file specified by [path\ResponseFile]. If this option is used along with the -r option, the response file is written to the folder/file specified by[path\ResponseFile] Setup.exe -f2[path\LogFile] Specifies an alternate location and name of the log file created by InstallShield Silent. By default, Setup.log log file is created and stored in the same directory as that of Setup.inx. Setup.exe -s Runs InstallShield Silent to execute a silent setup. Setup.exe /peernet Installs the peernet software package. This is for Windows Vista and Win7 only.
