This is a 12-week program for youth who are abusing or experimenting with substances and their families. CHP offers a Global Assessment of Individual Needs (GAIN); individual, group and family counseling, and provides substance abuse treatment and mental health services. This is accomplished through a collaborative effort involving three community agencies. The programs goal is to assist participants in completing their secondary school requirements and, subsequently, in securing employment and/or enrolling in a postsecondary school or program by providing a comprehensive support system that includes case management, tutoring, mentoring and education and career counseling, as well as leadership development opportunities and paid and unpaid work experiences. The YMCA of Central Kentucky's Black Achievers Program connects students with positive adult role models in the community. The program offers activities designed to expose students to career, educational, and social opportunities that are not readily available to them. These opportunities enable students to make informed decisions and develop the skills necessary to compete successfully in life.
CKYO members act as mentors to give free instrumental instruction at Lexington Traditional Magnet School (LTMS) and Bryan Station Middle School (BSMS). FIM activities occur at those schools directly after the school day, one day per week at each school. At present the program only teaches string instruments: violin, viola, cello, and bass.

The conference provides Lexington Urban League Young Professional members and volunteers with the opportunity to LIFT up the next generation of leaders as they strive toward success. This full day art workshop celebrates a milestone - graduation from 5th to 6th grade. Children from schools around Lexington will gather to enjoy a day of fun, friendship, food, and creativity. Students will explore a variety of materials to create an imaginative sculpture and share a leisurely lunch at a local downtown restaurant. At the end of the day, students will arrange an exhibit their artwork and celebrate their accomplishments with family and friends. Students may attend one of the two session dates.
