CCSU is a place were you get what you make of it. It actually has a very strong reputation in the work place IF you are doing a science or technology major. I have had internships at some very high end companies and found out that their CT branch only recruits UCONN and CCSU students.The Computer Science department is great and will get you used to the high-paced and hard work places that will follow your graduation. Work hard and stay involved and this is a good place to get a technological education. Mar 19 2013

Honestly you get a lot of of Central, its cheap but your getting a good education here probably a better education than in a private college. Most of my professors I've gotten to like and haven't had any problems. The campus isn't bad, but its not great its in between. In addition the surrounding city isn't bad there's things to do here in New Britain. I would say from what I've heard that Central is the best state school (not including UCONN) even if you don't want to go to a private school right now. Alright so I lived on campus for two years before moving into an apartment right off campus. Yes there are some people that go home on the weekend, but there is always a large number that stay. If you want to meet the most people you got to live in Vance. It is the oldest of the buildings, but it holds over 400 kids most of which are freshmen. The quad which is up the hill always has people outside playing basketball and other activities. If you are looking for social activities i.e. drinking, there is plenty of it. Many people pregame in the dorms before heading off campus to the many apartment buildings and houses around campus. There are fraternities and sororities as well as athletic houses to party. Elmers is the Central bar that everyone goes to, which is packed almost every night and others take the ten min drive to the hartford clubs and bars, many that are 18+. We have Division I athletics, however people only go to the football and basketball events. The police are relatively relxed with the tailgating because they are just happy you are showing school spirit. The basketball games get the most student attendance. I would recommend this school to anyone.
