Question (1a)

Like other people that born in 1990-an, I passed through my 11 years of learning in primary and secondary school with a back-to basics, so called the traditional ways of gaining the knowledge. Teachers often apply talk and chalk in the class without giving ways for the students to involve together in the learning session. In the eyes of reformers, traditional teacher-centered methods focused on rote learning and memorization must be abandoned in favor of student-centered and task-based approaches to learning. The students sat quietly at their places and listened to one student after another recite his or her lesson, until each had been called upon. The teacher's primary activity was assigning and listening to these recitations; students studied and memorized the assignments at home. Students learned through observation and listening . There are no attention to social development in traditional education. Students often address teachers formally by their last names. The teacher is considered a respected role model in the community. Students should obey the teacher. Proper behavior for the university or professional work community is emphasized.

Question (1 b) When I started my carrier as a technician in a computer company few years back, I tried my very best continue in process of gaining knowledge especially in the field that I involve in. Theres start my journey as a part time learner, which I need to learn in the distance learning mode. As a transformation from traditional learning to the E-learning system, I notice that E- Learning help me a lot in gaining knowledge in an easier way and make the learning fun and not a burden to me. Last time, I need to carry a 5kg weigh of the bag filled with text book , and sincere to say, its a burden to me and I hate those learning time with my big bag! But Now, with the distance learning education, E-book make knowledge lighter and easy to gain. I only need to have my laptop and broadband stick with me to have my book anytime anywhere. Teachers are no more important as in the traditional learning during those school time. Tutors act as a facilitator and guiding me in learning and doing my course work nowadays. E- teacher give me more convenient way where I can refer to whenever I have problem in learning, again, anywhere anytime. Going to library to get the books and facing the old, unfriendly librarian was another things that I hate during my school time. In the distance learning education, I can easily access to E- library to get all the information that I need. Writing notes, copying exercises given by the teachers for me was wasting time and money to buy exercise books. Computering nowadays will be a better choice to learn, save paper so that I can save the world by reducing the usage of papers.

Furthermore, the limitation in learning is caused by the schedule and timetable. In Elearning, it is flexible for me as a part time learner to learn and complete my homework anytime. As the conclusion, I enjoy my learning process as a E-Learner in the course that I attended at Wawasan University. It makes learning easy and fun.
