Instrument description: The Micropilot M FMR244 is a compact radar level transmitter for the continuous, contactless measurement of liquids, pastes and sludge. It has an operating frequency of about 26GHz and a maximum radiated pulsed energy of 1mW. Antenna (housing) temperature range: -40..80C (-40..80C) Pressure range: -1..3 bar For solid applications: option F with 35dB module For media with DC 1.4..>10 (both non-conductive and conductive) Totally harmless for human and animals

The FMR244 measures the level in a cylindrical upright buffer silo with a conical outlet. The silo gets filled with lime stone grain from the top via a conveyor belt. This creates a very dusty atmosphere and a very strong angle of repose. The silo is 11m high and has a diameter of 6m. The lime stone has a grain size of less then 10mm and a dielectric constant greater then 1.8. The device is installed in a 775mm x 775mm manhole.

During the field test period of 6 months the Micropilot M FMR244 worked without any problem and the customer is very satisfied. A general recommendation for solid applications is the 35dB module.
