The behavior of singly reinforced concrete beams (with hanger bars as nominal reinforcement) when strengthened with Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer overlays in the form of shear and flexure reinforcement is presented here. The ductility, load under appearance of first crack and ultimate loads have been studied. The mode of failure has also been studied and presented in this report.
A literature review with respect to the previous retrofitting attempts that have used steel has also been studied and presented here.
