US History Mr. Helms 2013 Room 801 Hello and welcome to US History.

I am excited to get started on the path of showing you all how relevant and inspiring history can be in your everyday lives. An understanding of the story of the United States is important in understanding both who we are as a common people and where we are going in the future. This year you will develop a new appreciation for history through an understanding of how past events have ultimately shaped both the world you live in and the lives you lead. I look forward to a great year and with your help I hope to show you how pertinent history can be in promoting understanding of not only the world around you but also the people you interact with every day. I hope to have no discipline problems in my class and expect that you will come to class everyday ready to learn, with respect to not only myself as the teacher and a person, but also to those around you, your environment, and yourself. **HOWEVER** When in the rare occasion there is a problem, there is a plan. Discipline Plan: W-Warning D-Detention O-Office Referral **WDO is in effect for one week at a time and does not rollover. For example, if I have to warn you on Monday and then have to address you again on Thursday, you will receive detention on Thursday. At the end of the week, WDO starts over. Rules: 1.
