Being able to clearly convey ideas to peers, or perhaps describe your companys offerings clearly, sounds like a fairly simple task. However, in a world where concentration spans seem to be shortening, literacy skills are falling and 140 character limits abound, communications are suffering. Within an organisation, sub-standard communication can lead to low productivity, misunderstandings, confusion and poor working relationships. Externally, badly prepared communications will affect every aspect of your business image and ultimately, sales and client retention. Poor written skills are so common in todays business world that mastering even a few basic techniques can make you stand out from the crowd. In fact, developing good communication skills can help you and your business attract positive attention relatively easily. Its a no brainer! Do you want to learn the skills of persuasive writing? Are you concerned about using overused words that have little meaning? Do you want to learn how to use writing as a relationship building tool? Does the communication style of your correspondence match the purpose? Are your reports easily interpreted and clearly structured? Do you want to achieve credibility with your clients through effective writing?
