The
Spirit
is
the
guarantee
of
all
God
has
promised
(Eph
1:13-14).
I.
The
Spirits
ministry
to
the
world
at
large
(John
16:8-11).
(To
convict
means
to
bring
a
sense
of
failure
and
guilt.)
A.
Areas
of
the
Spirits
conviction
ministry:
1.
He
convicts
them
of
sin.
The
greatest
wrong
the
world
has
done
is
not
believing
in
Jesus.
2.
He
convicts
them
of
righteousness.
The
Spirit
makes
us
feel
guilty
when
we
have
not
done
what
we
ought
to.
3.
He
convicts
them
of
judgment.
No
one
escapes
Gods
moral
judgment;
even
Satan
has
already
been
judged.
It
is
to
our
advantage
in
witnessing
that
the
Spirit
convicts.
B.
Examples
of
conviction
in
the
Bible:
Adam
&
Eve
David
Self-righteous
Pharisees
Crowd
on
the
day
of
Pentecost
Saul
of
Tarsus
The
conviction
of
the
Spirit
comes
in
different
forms.
Conviction
is
a
gift
from
God
intended
for
our
good.
C.
The
Spirit
also
convicts
believers
(2
Cor
7:11).
It
is
often
accompanied
by
the
chastening
of
the
Lord
(Heb
12:5-12).
II.
The
Spirits
ministry
to
believers
(John
16:12-15)
A.
He
will
guide
into
all
truth.
1.
The
disciples
day
remember,
understand
and
record
Jesus
teachings.
2.
Our
day
illumination
(1
Cor
2:9-13)
B.
He
will
glorify
Jesus.
C.
He
will
speak
of
future
things
1.
The
disciples
day
prophecy,
things
relating
to
the
church
2.
Our
day
the
Spirit
continually
reminds
us
of
things
to
come
Is
the
Spirit
nudging
your
heart
about
a
need
in
your
life?
