Nominal pipe size or outside diameter.

Schedule or average wall thickness.

Quantity

Random or specified lengths.

Total length or number of lengths.

Name of material

Duplex stainless steel pipe

Process

Seamless or welded duplex stainless steel pipe

Grade

Selected from chemical composition table

End finish

Plain ends with all burrs removed is ASTM requirement.

Bevelled, or other end finishes can be specified.

DIN 50049.3.1.B standard, or DIN 50049.3.1.C optional (3rd

party witness test) at extra cost

Options and supplementary requirements

Refer to optional and supplementary requirements S1 to S4

Note
The above table is based on ASTM requirements except with regard to alternative end finishes and test reports, where
standard practice options are added. See also page 10-2 for ISO based ordering and general delivery information.

Operational Requirements

Product Analysis of one billet, or one length of

flat rolled stock from each heat, or two pipes from
each lot, may be requested. Conformance with
chemical composition table is required.
S1 Product Analysis. Performed on 1 in 10
lengths of pipe >NPS 5, or on 10% of lengths of
pipe <NPS 5, per heat of steel if smaller.
S1 Tranverse Tension Tests. For NPS 8 and
larger only, test performed on one end of 10% of
pipe lengths per heat of steel.

S1 Flattening Test. Performed on one or both ends

of each pipe. If this supplementary requirement
is specified then the number of tests per pipe
must to stated.
S1 Etching Tests. Etching tests will show the
homogeneity of pipes and are made on a cross
section from one or both ends of a pipe in
accordance with appropriate portions of Method
E381.
