WORK INSTRUTION FOR ANALYSIS OF CAST IRON

1. Prepare specimen for Micro analysis, specimen should be well polished & scratch free.

2. Put specimen on microscope & turn on your microscope & camera, Adjust microscope’s setting

3. Open Pro-Metal 3.3.1 Software on desktop & click Camera button which presents on Tool bar.
(When you click on camera you get another window which is camera it shows micro structure of
which you put on the microscope.)

4. When you get sharp and clear image then click on File Save Signel Frame button which
presents on camera window menu bar. Give desired name and click Save button. (You can save
five images of Polished, five images of Etched & Five images of etched with ammonium
persulphate from different locations for analysis.)

5. Close the camera’s window.

6. Click on New button which presents on Tool bar and you will get options for analysis like Cast
Iron Polished, S.G. Iron Polished etc.

7. Click on Cast Iron Polished & Click on Next.

8. Select micro image which want to analyzed and click on Process button.

9. Click on Analyse For Type Distribution button.

10. Select ‘B’, ‘C’, ‘D’, ‘E’ types and click on Process button and Click on Ok button.

11. For another images click on Add button & click on Cast Iron polished and same procedures
which shows in 7, 8 & 9. After finishing of polished analysis then go for etched analysis.

12. Click on Add Button & select Cast Iron Etched.

13. Select etched image from the list & click Open button.

14. Click on Process button.

15. For analysis of another etched images click on Add button & click on Cast Iron Etched and
same procedures which shows in 12, 13 & 14.

16. Click on Average button which presents Tool bar.

17. Click on Preview & select Customer Name, Part Name.
18. Fill all actual data (Chemical Analysis & Mechanical Properties)
19. Click on Show Report and get Test Certificate.
20. To print Test Certificate click on Print button.
21. To save Test Certificate Click on Save Button.
22. To exit click on Exit button.

1. Prepare specimen for Micro analysis, specimen should be well polished or scratch free.

3. Open Pro-Metal 3.3.1 Software on desktop & click Camera button which presents on Tool bar.

13. Click on Average button which presents Tool bar.

14. Click on Preview & select Customer Name, Part Name.

1. Prepare specimen for Micro analysis, specimen should be well polished or scratch free.

2. Put specimen on microscope & turn on your microscope & camera, Adjust microscope’s setting

3. Open Pro-Metal 3.3.1 Software on desktop & click Camera button which presents on Tool bar.
(When you click on camera you get another window which is camera it shows micro structure of
which you put on the microscope.)

24. When you get sharp and clear image then click on File Save Signel Frame button which
presents on camera window menu bar. Give desired name and click Save button. (You can save
five images of Polished, five images of Etched & Five images of etched with ammonium

Iron Polished, Malleable Iron Unetched etc.

6. Click on Malleable Unetched & Click on Next.

7. Select micro image which want to analyzed and click on Process button.

8. For another images click on Add button & click on Malleable Unetched and same procedures
which shows in 7, 8. After finishing of polished analysis then go for etched analysis.

9. Click on Add Button & select Malleable Iron Etched.

10. Select etched image from the list & click Open button.

11. Click on Process button.

12. For analysis of another etched images click on Add button & click on Malleable Iron Etched
and same procedures which shows in 11 & 12.

13. Click on Average button which presents Tool bar.

14. Click on Preview & select Customer Name, Part Name.
15. Fill all actual data (Chemical Analysis & Mechanical Properties)
16. Click on Show Report and get Test Certificate.
17. To print Test Certificate click on Print button.
18. To save Test Certificate Click on Save Button.
19. To exit click on Exit button.

WORK INSTRUTION FOR ANALYSIS FOR CARBIDE WITH AMMONIUM PERSULPHATE

1. After Phase (Etched) analysis click on Analyse for Carbide with Ammonium Persulphate
button.

2. Click on Load Image & select micro image which want to be analyzed and click on Process
button.

3. Click on Ok button.

4. Click on Average button which presents on tool bar & Click on Preview button.

5. Select Customer Name, Part Name & fill all required data.

6. Click on Show Report button for Test Certificate.

7. To save Test Certificate click on Save button & to print click on Print button.

8. To exit click on Exit button.

Add Customer Names

1. Click on Customers which presents in Tool bar.

2. Fill password and click on Ok button.

3. Click Add New button & fill all data.

4. Click Save button & to exit click on Exit button.

Add Component Details.

1. Click on Part button which presents in Tool bar.

2. Fill password & Click Ok button.

3. Select Customers & click on Add New button.

4. Fill all details & click on Save button. (All block should be filled.)
