I discipline myself to daily read and listen to the news from across the world scene. There is a sense of urgency in my spirit to get deeper into understanding the events in Egypt. I am studying the scriptures that speak about Egypt and will likely share a word with you on Sunday that will give you information so that we can appropriately lift up the believers in Egypt. Pray prepare your heart come expecting God to move in our midst.

Humility The Foundation of Gods Blessings
Luke 14:1-11 records Jesus in the home of religious leader of the Jews on a Sabbath day. While there Jesus healed a man of dropsy (an accumulation of fluid that affects multiple parts of the body). Jesus then gave a teaching about appropriate behavior on the Sabbath. Verse 11 records, everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted. Life can be a humbling experience when humility is embrace, God moves to exalt / lift us up! I was humbled on Sunday when the eyes of Summer Willard met mine. As she was dedicated to the Lord and the church expressed support to her mother Amanda I was moved in spirit. At the close of the service, when ten-year-old Joe Murray knelt to be baptized my heart was greatly warmed. In both of these experiences God reminded me of the scripture that records, Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. (Mark 10:14) Today I remember with thanksgiving the words of Jewell Kurus never forget to remain humble. She gave me this godly piece of advice in the Fall of 1986 while I was serving at Turners Chapel Church in Sanford NC. She is now with the Lord, but her words live on in my heart. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the opportunity to serve God at Faith Christian Church.

Grandparents Day Two Weeks Away!
On Sunday, September 8, 2013 we will remember and honor our grandparents. There will be a time of fellowship with finger foods, juice, and coffee from 9:30-10:00. In worship the Good News Trio will share the Word of God in song a love offering will be received. The event offers a great opportunity for you to invite un-churched friends, family, neighbors, etc. You bring emwell feed em! (physically and spiritually!)
