We use the verb to be to talk about our age, where we are from, etc. For example: a) Im Jessica. b) Shes from Slovenia. We use There is / There are to talk about the existence of something. For example: a) Theres a nice restaurant in this street. b) There are two castles in the town.

Language Structure: The Present Simple
Affirmative

We use the Present Simple to describe regular habits and customs. We also use it to describe facts, to give opinions or to talk about things that are true. For example: a) She lives in Paris. b) The dog likes the park. Remember the third person s: She likes. He plays. etc. We can use adverbs of frequency with the Present Simple: always, often, usually, normally, sometimes, occasionally, hardly ever, never. We usually place the adverb directly before the verb. For example: a) He never arrives on time. b) She doesnt usually have any money.
