Anantharaman Trimester 2, Year 2 The objective of the course is to provide students with an understanding of the fundamentals in human resource management that are related in all organisations. Human resource management is set the process of acquiring, training, appraising and compensating employees and of attending to their labour relations, health and safety and fairness concerns. As future managers, it is essential they understand the concepts and techniques to ensure that they will not make personal mistake while managing. At the completion of the subject, students should be able to: LO1. LO2. LO3. LO4. Describe the general function of human resource management in organisations. Identify the strategic importance of human resource management to organisational success. Apply the need for a systematic approach to human resource management. Topics Covered
Introduction Explain the roles of basic human resource functions such as the strategic role of human resource management, strategic human resource management and the HR scorecard. Recruitment and Placement Job analysis, personnel planning and recruiting, employee testing and selection and interview candidates. Training and Development Training and developing of employees, performance management and appraisal as well as Managing Careers. Compensation Establishing strategic pay plans, pay for performance and financial incentives including benefits and services that affected the compensation management. Employee Relations Managing global human resources as well as identifying current movements in international and national issues of human resource.
