Ki Tetze 2013: Deuteronomy 21:1025:19 I. There are many peculiarities found in this Parsha.

For instance, it contains more of the mitzvoth (72) than any other. It begins and ends with instructions regarding war, yet is filled with how to interact with others. Is this contradictory? Couldnt all wars be avoided if we each adhered to the mitzvoth regarding our relationships first with YHVH and then with others? In fact, all of the commandments of YHVH can be subdivided into two distinct categories: #1. How to love (and interact with) YHVH and #2. How to love your Neighbor and interact with them. In fact, these Suzerain/Vassal treaties open with two sections: 1) The identification of the Suzerain by his name and titles; 2) The historical survey of the Suzerain's dealings with the vassal. The purpose is to illustrate to the vassal how much the Suzerain has done to protect and establish the vassal who therefore owes submission and allegiance to the Suzerain. These two sections are referred to as the "Preamble." You can see this in the giving of the 10 Commandments: Ex. 20: 1 11. Why is the keeping of Sabbath included? Because it was the Day for the Witnessing of the Covenant and must be remembered as the solemnizing of the Oath between the parties, else the Treaty promises are replaced by the Treaty threats! Curiously, the number 613, attached to the laws reveals this very thought in its simple factors: 6+1+3 = 10 (number of completion) 1+0= 1, the number symbolizing YHVH and Echad as revealed in Deut. 6: 4 9. The word Echad, #259, 'Echad here is taught to mean One as in Unity or united, but, its root actually infers One as: alone or only, indicating the intent of primacy, I.E. the state of being first in importance, order, rank! This is in keeping with the theme of Deuteronomys Suzerain terminology. What do these numbers tell us? Well the significance of the number 72 isnt lost on us when we note that it is written in Hebrew with the letters Ayin Bet: #5645, `ab. A thick cloud, darkness, a thicket and thus, a covering. It also indicates an architectural term meaning threshold. We see this word in Ex. 19: 9 where YHVH appears upon Mt. Sinai in a thick (Av) cloud. If we understand Ancient Near Eastern customs, the thresholds signature appearance here reveals evidence of ancient Suzerain Treaty Language

reflecting the language and structure of war-time arrangements between a Suzerain and his people. It becomes obvious that the two Mountains; Sinai & Horeb, form the doorposts. In fact, Sinai can be translated, My Learned Man, while Horeb has the same root as #2719, chereb, a fem. Noun meaning a sword or knife, to cut off. It was here at this Threshold the Learned Man is circumcised from the earth, His blood (word-light) applied to the doorposts of the Mountains! Were told in Ex. 24 that Moshe sprinkles the blood of the Covenant on the altar of earth at the base/threshold of the mountain/doorway and then upon the people after having read the terms of the Covenant. Prior to this, the people were forbidden access to the mountain upon penalty of death! They were at war no peace treaty! The Suzerain or Greater King would keep one copy of the treaty and the vassal or Lesser King(s) would also keep a copy of the treaty. A number of ratifying ceremonies were used depending upon the era and culture. But the most widely used rite was that of cutting the bodies of animals in halves and placing them in two rows with enough space between for the two parties of the treaty to walk side by side. As they walked between the pieces, they were vowing to each other, "May what has happened to these animals, happen to me if I break this covenant with you." This is demonstrated in Gen. 15 where Abraham is put asleep while The Burning Lamp passes between the pieces. Ironically, at the setting of this Parsha, Israel is about to walk between the Pieces of Mt. Gerizim and Mt. Ebal. In keeping with Ancient Suzerain Policy, the details of this Parsha regulate the civil and social interactions of his subjects which would reveal the intent of the heart toward the King himself. Obedience or not? Quite honestly, the Threshold Covenant is most demonstrated in the Marriage Covenant and the same terminology heard in traditional wedding vows cited from the Book of Ruth 1:16, with verse 17 echoing the quote above! In fact, the pattern of Ruth covers the whole spectrum of the Spring and Fall festivals, with chapter 1 coinciding with Aviv/Nissan 10, the timing of Circumcision! The blood of which, is applied to the doorposts loins! Note then the irony of the Parshas beginning: The title of the Portion Ki Tetze points specifically to events during and after war, yet follows the prohibition of shedding innocent blood. (Deut. 21: 9) Thus, within the title is the means to avoid bloodguilt during wartime. How? Lets examine the verse in Hebrew: Deut. 21: 10

When thou goest forth to war against thine enemies, and the LORD thy God hath delivered them into thine hands, and thou hast taken them captive, Ki-tetse lamilchamah al-oyveycha unetano YHVH Eloheycha beyadecha veshavita shivyo. The Hebrew word, Ki means for, when, because, etc. The hyphen connects it to the next word: Tetse: Its root as follows, is peculiar here. #3318, yatsa' The two letter root Tzade Alef, Tzade, means, go out. The Yod prefixed implies action in the 3rd person, both past and future. In other words, He was, is and will be going out! Interestingly, it is changed grammatically in the sentence to the Tav is inserted rather than the Yod! Tav is 3rd person future tense. This phrase then seems to say, WHEN HE GOES OUT YOU GO OUT. This is again, Ancient Near Eastern Suzerain treaty language! If you fail to heed and follow Himyou lose the war. *Note the difference in gematria. Yod Tzade Alef = 101, Tav Tzade Alef = 491 the difference is 390! The number of years Israel went into captivity (X7 = 2730) for not following YHVH! 101 is the gematria for #3988, maas, to reject, refuse, to despise. 491 is the gematria of Lechat Eben, Tablets of Stone. To reject the message of the Torah results in captivity. If however, you are obedient, you will take the enemy captive! Isnt this dialogue apropos seeing that Israel is on the cusp of the conquest of Canaan? The first chapter (21) ends with discussion of the right of Firstborn, (son of the hated wife or son of the beloved) a son who is stubborn and rebellious and thus is stoned and one who is hanged upon a tree. How does this fit the language of the Ancient Near Eastern Covenant with the mindset of the modern Believer who has always been taught Grace by Faith? Arent these examples in the physical of the war being fought between the flesh (bondwoman) and the spirit (free or beloved?) Gal. 4. It becomes evident that flesh does not obey the Treaty/Covenant and invokes the penalty of death. Gal. 3 tells us Yahshua was hanged on a tree in order to become a curse for us that we not be cursed! Yet, how could he take that role and then arrange for us to be part of the inheritance if He was not The SON of the Suzerain? In fact, the Ancient Treaties declare that once a Vassal is disloyal Adam was Our flesh is - he is replaced by an heir of the dynasty who is loyal to the Great King! Read An argument in favor of

the NT being written originally in Hebrew is substantiated by this same Ancient Covenant language in such obvious places as Hebrews 1: 1 6! In fact, the Ancient Suzerain treaty specifies the Vassal, a SON BY ADOPTION! The ancient term was a Covenant of Grant and within it establishes the Vassals Seed as heir forever; with the stipulation of discipline should the children of the Vassal break the commandments! Now you know why Yahshua was Abrahams Seed, and why he was striped on our behalf and why we can be Sons of the Covenant if we are obedient! And why there MUST BE CONSEQUENCES TO SIN: It entails more than just believing in the Covenant, it requires living the terms! This language is seen in Ps. 89: 26 -37 and Is. 53. Now you know why Yahshua was also called a Son of David - because David is also here called My Firstborn. No wonder the Pharisees of the day are incensed when the people make the declaration of Hosanna in the highest Son of David! It was acknowledging Yahshua as Messiah and heir apparent to the Throne! Hence, the commonly asked question, Have you come at this time to restore the Kingdom? You can also see in Ex. 4:22 the declaration of YHVH regarding Israel as SON! The same pattern can be seen in the historical Land Grant Treaties of American history which deeded title to property in the form of Land Grants or Patents to those subjects loyal to the King! In law, no forced mortgage or tax liability can stand against a Land Patent, thus, the powers that be had to swindle the people by replacing the Land Grants/Patents with warranty deeds. By simply changing the wording of a document and the individual not knowing What is written the Con is complete! Now you know why Yahshua replied: IT IS WRITTEN and now you know why the Books which were sealed are now being opened! Your rights contained within the Language of the Original Document (Hebrew) are being restored to allow you to establish His Kingdom NOW! In fact, after the Preamble to the document, it was followed by the stipulations: one of which, the compulsion on the vassal to deposit the written treaty in the temple and to read it occasionally! You are the temple (1Cor. 6: 19) and Jer. 31: 31 33 declares He is going to write the terms of the Treaty in your heart! Covenant/Treaty Renewal: II. Suzerain treaties provided for the Means of continuing the commitment to the covenant throughout future generations, called a Renewal: The Terms did not change, but the new participants were allowed to affirm their allegiance. John 13: 34, 35 reaffirms the Love YHVH Love your Neighbor. The Holy Convocations,

the Festivals were specifically set aside as a Season to allow that RENEWAL! Hence, the emphasis on the mandatory nature of the Pilgrimage festivals! Pesach-ShavuotSukkot! Exchanging of Garments: III. Treaty provisions included the exchanging of garments. *Note Deut. 22: 11, 12 Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, [as] of woolen and linen together. Lets look at a few words here: Garment, #3847, labash, garment. The same Hebrew letters can also be used fig. to mean a wife, as in Mal. 2:16. Woolen, #6785, tsemer, translated, white, wool, its from a root inferring to be shaggy. It is used figuratively in expressions related to Israels harlotry. [Hos. 2:5]. Broken apart, the Tzade means righteousness, while the Mem-Resh root mar, infers rebellion. Linen, #6593, pishteh, from the Pey-Shin root, which means folly, transgression, rebellion. Breaking it apart, we see the Pey mouth, words spoken? And Shin-Tav, to devour the covenant and which can mean garment. Linen was the garment chosen for the Priests, it covered the FLESH, whose folly, transgression came when words were spoken that destroyed the treaty causing the garment of Praise to be exchanged for ashes dust (opposite of Is. 61:3 which reflects another facet of Suzerain Treaties Restoration!) Together, #3162, yachad together, joined together to become one. From Echad The Only The First. It becomes plain that this discourse reflects the Gen. record of the fall of Adam & Eve the Bride who engaged the Shaggy One Enemy, their harlotry broke the Righteous Covenant and initiated the rebellion, by the words spoken against the Treaty. They lost their garments which were the GARMENTS OF THE KING taking on the garment of the serpent dust/ashes! Thus, becoming one with him. The Lamb is slaughtered in Gen. 3: 21 and the Bride is Restored as long as she honors the Price!

Deut. 21: 12 shows the restoration process as the fringes, #1434, gdil, are added to the new garments. This word has the same letters as Gadol high, great, majesty, to promote to a higher office! It is used of the High (Gadol) Priest, a symbol connected with the First Born Adam, Yahshua, etc. it serves as a reminder of Adoption as a Son by the Great King The Suzerain! Gadol, also applies a twisting, inferring to wrestle. Now you know why Jacobs name is changed to Israel, when he is twisted together, bound as one, exchanging covenant places with, the Crown Prince, #8280, sarah, Prince, Chief, etc. The Suzerain of Gen. 32: 28.
