Point

Introduction

Hygrometers is an instrument that were used to measure air temperature and relative humidity in environment. By using hygrometers we can identify the air temperature and relative humidity surrounding. Hygrometers also used in sauna room, incubator rooms, humidors and museum. In residential hygrometers are used to aid humidity control. Usually at each point the data were taken a few times to get the average or accuracy of the temperature and relative humidity surrounding. Different point have different value or range of the air temperature and relative humidity based on the spaces.

It is important to know the percentage of air temperature and relative humidity of each spaces, whereby if the spaces have very low humidity it can damages human skin and body, while too high humidity can growth mildew and dust mite. Different country have different air temperature and humidity such as Malaysia which dont have four season rather than western coun try or other Asean country which have four season within a year.

Procedure

In form of group we have to gets the data for air temperature and relative humidity by using hygrometers. Based on our understanding below shows the steps taken to collect data by using hygrometers. 1. Sketch floor plan of that spaces and set five (5) points A,B and C (for internal spaces), D and E for external spaces to measure the air temperature and relative humidity. 2. Draw a schedule to key in the data collect. 3. Turn on the hygrometer and press button in to gets the data for internal space at first point A. 4. Wait for a few second for first reading, then key in the data in the schedule. 5. Steps 3 and 4 are repeated for three ( 3 ) times at the same point . 6. Steps 3, 4 and 5 are repeated for point B and C. 7. Turn on the hygrometer and press button out to gets dat a for external spaces D and E. 8. Steps 4 and 5 are repeated for point D and E. 9. Calculate the average for air temperature and relative humidity for each point.

Conclusions and recommendation

1. Based on our observations and the data collected the classroom still in comfort zone whereby the range for best comfort zone is 30 % - 65 %. 2. The lower temperature the higher humidity. 3. The furniture in internal spaces affect the temperature whereby it rise a bit temperature rather than external spaces which is open space. 4. Reduce the quantity of furniture in classroom to address the blocking of air movement. 5. The placement or organizing furniture should refer Uniform Building By Laws (UBBL) or Architect Data (Neufert).
