1. Introduction The screen shots included in this file are created to demonstrated the menu option to be selected to achieve each stage It is important that the order of these items is followed when loading an aircraft (to avoid locking journeys etc.):

2. Specific Instructions 2. 1. Maintenance Program & Revision Make sure there is a maintenance program and revision setup for the aircraft you wish to load

You can choose IETP Tigre program for the purposes of this training.

Editing this program and selecting the Revisions tab shows the revision of this program. This part is already complete for aircraft B-LFA

21/04/2009 14:17

Add part numbers to Part No Control grid (if they are not already there) for the items you need to track against the aircraft

If you need to add a new part number for an item you wish to fit to the aircraft the following options should be used:

As per the screenshot above enter the following fields: Part Number: Part Description: Common Name: Enter the part number you are loading Enter the description for the part number Enter any other name the part number may also be known by

Default IPC Reference: Enter the Illustrated Parts Catalogue Reference if known Part Status: Classification: Work instruction Always select Active from the drop down Always select Rotable from the drop down Copyright Rusada 2001-2009 all rights reserved Page 3

Part Class:

not mandatory field; this is a way of grouping parts (per A/C type for example); referred also as Product Groups

Stock Unit Of Measure: Always select EACH from the drop down Continue checking for part numbers or entering new part numbers until part numbers exist in this table for all of the assets you want to track against the airframe

2.3. Models Add models; link them to their respective part numbers; link them to their maintenance program and link them to each other to form the tree

Models can be found from the above menu option. To add a model click the Add button. Then fill out the necessary information:

Model Tab When selecting Add a screen as above will be displayed. Please enter the following minimum information on the model tab: Model: The main name of the model to be loaded. Normal practice is to use a prefix that denotes the aircraft Model, i.e. if the Model is for the R85, we would use a prefix of R85-DUCT followed by the Model Description i.e. DUCT. The Model name would then be R85-DUCT. A further description of this model. Usual practice is to copy and paste the Model Name. This is an important selection based on a drop down list. Select the relevant model type based on the model you are loading. If the model is a model that would have a log book e.g. Engine then select Engine. If it is purely a component that would be fitted to an engine then select Component This is very important and the Model Types should be self explanatory. If not have a look at the Help on Model Types. If the model is a log book model it is important to add Zone information to the Model which can be used later on in the workcard system; this field is not mandatory

It is important that the model is linked to the relevant part number/s for this model. If not then you will not be able to add assets to the system selecting this model and part number combination as the part number would not be allowed against a particular model.

Go to the Part Number tab and Select Add Find the appropriate part number/s and tick the Sel(ect) button then press Apply this links the model to the Part Number/s selected Maintenance Programmes Tab Go to the Maintenance Programmes tab and link the model to the relevant Maintenance Schedule. Select Add Find the appropriate maintenance schedule/s and tick the Sel(ect) button then press Apply this links the model to the maintenance schedule/s selected

Continue adding all of the models for the airframe and its sub components. It is usual working practice to prefix the model name with the higher assy it is being fitted to. As a minimum load the log book models to the system. Work instruction Copyright Rusada 2001-2009 all rights reserved Page 6

Access Panels Tab If the model is a log book model then please add the relevant access panels to the model for use in the workcard system.

Note: Access Panels added to this tab, will then be available from the level of work card (for the correct workpack setup the work card information is required: we will need to select aircraft/component models applicable for the work card, and then in Panels tab - Access Panels for this model are available).

Sub Models Tab This tab allows you to fit assets to each other. Fitting assets to each other should be done in relation to the higher assy model see attached picture for an engine model breakdown

Here you can see an engine model of CF6-50C2 which has a CF6-50C2 Fan Module fitted to it comprising of a number of other items for example the CF6-50C2 Fan Mid Shaft. It is important that items are fitted in relation to their next higher assembly so as their life codes i.e. TSN & TSCO values move with the component on removal and refit between higher assys.

Page 7

Work Instruction Aircraft Loading To add a sub model to a model you do the following Add or Attach Icon a new window will appear as below.

21/04/2009 14:17

Select the Model from the list Select the Location Select the position Press the Save & Close Icon at the top of the window to add model to tree. Press the Save & Next if you want to save model to tree and then add the next model. Continue linking models to each other until the tree is formed. It is very important that at a minimum ALL the log book models are formed on the tree at this point before continuing data loading of the aircraft. The model tree forms the basic template of the aircraft to be loaded including its sub components the next steps build the relevant information for an individual aircraft. One model tree is required per airframe model type. Differences in configuration of the aircraft model tree i.e. certain items not fitted on individual aircraft will be controlled at the individual aircraft level

Tips about the model locations: In essence the naming doesnt matter it is more important the logic is understood: 1) A log book asset should only be fitted at the location level (not location and position) see below (pt 2.5) 2) A maintenance item location name doesnt really matter (it is the quantity that is one of the determining factors as to how many MIs show against an asset or Reg 3) Workcard locations are only used to filter cards out so as you dont do a sided card on the wrong side. I.E. a check of the RH wing on the LH wing or vice versa

2.4. Adding Assets In order to attach an asset to the airframe it must exist in the Asset / Component log.

The asset component log is accessible from the following menu option.

When adding a new record the following fields are of importance:

Serial No: Model:

Enter the Serial Number of the asset Select a Model. Selection of the Model will then filter the list of available part numbers i.e. the ones allowed for that model Select a relevant Part No. Enter a manufacture date for the individual asset. If one is not known enter the Manufacture Date of the next higher assembly asset Select a Status of BUILD for all assets from the drop down. This status will be changed when the asset is attached or detached

Part No: Manufacture Date:

Status:

2.5. Adding log books including any start values If the asset created above has a model type which is a log book model type then you will receive this prompt:

Select Yes Log books for assets can also be added manually from the following grid:

A log book is setup to record the life codes you want to track against a particular higher assy e.g. an engine and what those values are in relation to the technical logs / journey logs flown whilst this asset is fitted to an airframe. A log book is required for each higher asset. Against a log book select the appropriate log book type and the life codes you want to track against it. Also select whether you want these life codes to show or hide from the entries tab of the log book and also the extra info box of the T05RegGrid (fleet registrations).

21/04/2009 14:17

Enter the Registration; select the airframe Serial Number from a drop down list; Status; Based At & Maintenance schedule. Also consider the tick boxes at the Registration level. E.G. Tick ask for journey places to show from and to IATA airport codes on journey logs / tech logs and untick Hide Arrival / Departure values if you want to record Chocks off/on times journey logs / tech logs. Go to Model Tree tab an check if your aircrafts model tree appeared there correctly. Once happy with your selections save and close the aircraft you have added. It is also important the aircraft is linked to a line defect order and that ADD ranges are setup against the airframe. To create a line defect order, go to line defect order range.

Add a new order (using Add button), enter all mandatory data, enter orders description. In Reg section of oreder details, selectyour reg for which you want to create a line defect order, Save & Close.

You will be able now to select line defect order number on your Reg details window.

The next important think at this stage is defining ADD Ranges tab in aircraft details. In this tab you define the way how ADD numbers will be created for the aircraft.

To define ADD range, go to ADD Ranges tab, click Add and enter all necessary data prefix, number of digits and description. Remarks are not mandatory. Last ADD No field is not mandatory also, but if you enter a number there, creation of ADD numbers will begin from the subsequent number (in the case of the above picture it will be YOU001). Note that you can add any number of ADD Ranges to your aircraft, you will then have to select the relevant range when creating ADD defect.

The next screen shows you the Carried out text being updated for the item you have just fitted. Fit all of the remaining log book assets before moving to the next stage This is achieved by repeating the all of the parts of stage 9 for the remaining log book assets. Tips about attaching assets: Components will have an installation date of some time in the past that does not match the life code information from the tech log in the task used for attachment. Some customers got around this by starting all their aircraft at 0 hours and inserting tech logs at points in time so as the system could have items fitted to it both at the correct date and correct hours and cycles. See also the section 2.7 the initial Tech Log.

2.10. Adding the 2nd tech-log

Once the stage 2.9. is complete add one more tech log to the aircraft with a Maintenance status accruing no values but showing the additional log books life codes as a result of completing stage 2.9.

Here is an example of the tech log that needed to be added and you can see from the life code screen that there are more values here i.e. ones related to the landing gears that were fitted.

2.11. Attachment of subcomponents and MIs

Create one more task on the workorder linked to the 2nd tech log created in stage 2.10. Use this task to initially set all maintenance items and to fit all sub components. Do not do this stage until all of the stages above are complete

Here is a new task I added set to the new tech log I just added. This task is then to be used to fit the remaining assets to the aircraft and set the initial maintenance item status.
