Moore Theological College Application Procedures


This guide does not form part of the Moore College application for admission form. It is included to assist you in completing the application form. Please print with a black pen. If you need more space, please attach additional pages. If you are commonly known by another name, (eg William, Bill or Will, OR Elizabeth, Liz, Beth) please write your preferred name in the space provided. This will be the name used on the name tag provided for you when you enter College. The normal requirement for admission to the College is a degree from an Australian university or the equivalent. Please write the correct abbreviation. However, under certain circumstances, applicants will be considered conditional on passing an English entrance examination. The English exam is a comprehension exam which does not require any preparation and is an hour long. Please give one of the Reference forms to each of your referees. Your referees should include the senior minister or pastor of your local church and two lay people, one of whom should have some position of leadership in your present church, eg church warden, home group leader (no family members or current Moore College students). If, for the purposes of Ministry Training you have left the Christian gathering you consider your home church and who also feel you belong to them, please name that church in the space provided. If you have been in more than one church, as well as recording your roles in your present church, indicate your ministry roles in one or two previous churches. The decision to accept students into Moore College is made by the Principal. If you wish to be become a candidate for ordination in the Diocese of Sydney, you should arrange for an interview as soon as possible with the Archdeacon for Ordination. Depending on the result of this interview you will receive an Application for Ordination Candidature. In addition, you will need to undergo a psychological assessment.
