Cebu City Philippines TEACHING PLAN Learners Characteristics: The family is a nuclear family. Teresita Manlupig, 56 years old, Roman Catholic in religion, living as a housewife at Brgy. Day-As. Highest educational attainment was High School Graduate. She is currently living with her husband, a son with a family, and a daughter with family. Reasons for devising the Teaching Plan: This teaching plan will serve as a guide to be able to discuss important topics for home visit and serve as a device to work effectively and to have a well organized implementation. This teaching plan was devised since client Teresita Manlupig claimed that hypertension is their heredofamilial disease. General Objectives: Within 30 minutes of student nurse-client interaction, the student nurse will be able to facilitate home visit properly and will be able to teach the client on the prevention and health promotive practices well. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES Teaching-Learning Topics and Contents Activities, Materials, Resources Evaluation Aids and Place TEACHER LEARNER Within 30 minutes of discussion the teacher will be able to: establish rapport with the client discuss about hypertension discuss the types an stages of HPN discuss the risk factors of hypertension discuss the symptoms discuss the proper way to use bp discuss the ways on how to maintain HPN clarify what the client learned thank the client for the participation and time spent Within 30 minutes of discussion the learner: Will be able to give her trust to the student nurse Understand hypertension Recognize the types and stages Be aware of the risks of HPN Be aware of the symptoms Learn how to use the bp properly Learn how to manage HPN Grateful for the knowledge imparted Shared home visit Lecture and discussion through: Open forum Health teachings Materials needed Visual aids pamphlets Material resources: Visual aids: Definition Classes Causes Signs and symptoms Risk factors Management Human resources: Knowledge of the student Time and effort of the student nurse and learner Token
