Q.11.

In connection with Digit Transfer Report from LTG0-2 to LTG1-2., answer the following questions: (4) Which time slot is used on the SDC connecting LTG to the SN ? 0 Which side of the SN will be used for the active message channel ? 0 Which side of the MB will be used for the active message channel ? 0 Which time slot is used on the SDC connecting SN and MB ? 4 In which unit will you find a SILCB module ? What is the function performed by it ? (3) GP It handles the exchange of messages with DLU/PA. It functions as an Input/ Output Processor. The transmission protocols are based on HDLC procedure. On the LTG side, the SILC completes the layer-2 functions of signaling protocol (synchronization, error detection, error handling) and thereby guarantees secure message exchange between peripheral units (DLU or ISDN PA) and the GP. On which highway does the message information for LTGs go (3)

What does COC stand for? What does it imply ? (3) Cross Office Check. After the path is through connected at the SN, the LIU of the calling LTG performs a cross-office check (COC) through the SN-halves. The purpose of the COC is to detect errors. In the COC, a test bit pattern from the LIU part of the LTG of the calling subscriber is sent to the LTG of the called subscriber, where it is looped back and returned to the sending LIU part. The LTG at this end compares the transmitted and received bit patterns and, if they match, confirm that the existing connection will be used for transferring information. Write down the equivalent modules for the old SN version : TSMB = Two TSM plus Two LIL SSM8B= Two SSM 8/15 plus Two LIS SSM16B=Eight SSM16/16 LISB = Two LIS (10)
