NOTICE OF NOMINATION MEETING AND ELECTION OF OFFICERS

A General Membership Meeting of Local 177 will be held for the purpose of nominating candidates for the Secretary-Treasurer (Principal Officer), President, Vice President, Recording Secretary, three (3) Trustees and six (6) Business Agents of Local 177 lBT. The terms of office for these officers will begin on January 1, 2014 and end on December 31, 2016. Nominations must be made and seconded at the Nomination Meeting by a member in good standing other than the nominee. A member unable to attend may nominate or second a nomination in writing. A member must accept his/her nomination at the meeting or, if unable to attend, in writing. Any such w_ritten nominations, seconds and acceptances must be received by the Secretary-Treasurer by 5:00 PM on Friday, September 6,2013, by mail c/o Locai 177, Union Office - 282 Hillside Avenue, Hillside, NJ 07205 or hand delivered by 9:00 AM on September 8, 2013, before the start of the Nomination Meeting. No member may accept nomination for more than one position. To nominate or second a candidate or otherwise participate in the nomination meeting, a member must have his/her dues paid up through the month of August 2013 and must be an active member on the day of the nomination meeting. Prospective candidates are advised to verify eligibility with the Secretary-lreasurer, in advance of the nomination meeting. The eligibility of Nominators and Seconders shoutd also be verified that they are paid through the month of August 2013. A meeting for all candidates will take place immediately fotlowing nominations with the representative from Election Services Corporation. To be eligible to be elected for any office in Local 177, a member must be in continuous good standing.in jurisdiction of Local 177 for a period of 24 consecutive months _Lqqal 127 a_nd._qqtively _rn a craft within lhe

payment of dues for the 24-month period, together with no interruption in active membership in Local 177 because of luspension, expulsions, withdrawals, transfers or failure to pay fines or assessments. Candidates shall have the right to campaign and appear on the ballot as members of a slate. A member on dues check off will not lose good standing as a result of a delay or default in the employer's transmittal of dues to the Local Union or because of an employer's failure to make the proper deductions in any month in which the member has earnings from.which deductions could have been made. Members in a reserve component of the military or National Guard who are called to active service lasting more than thirty (30) days but not more than twenty-four (24) consecutive months, may have their eligibility determined in accordance with Article ll, Section a@)@) of the lnternational Constitution. This election shall be held in accordancewith the Local 177 Bylaws, and the IBT lnternational Constitution, and the election rules adopted by the Executive Board. Elected officers of Local 177 shall, by virtue of such election, be delegates to the Joint Council.

ELECTION OF OFFIGERS
Election for officers of Local 177 shall be by a secret ballot, conducted by mail referendum. The printing, mailing, receiving and tabulating of all ballots shall be conducted by Election Services Solutions. ln order to vote in the election, a member must be in good standing and have paid his/her dues through September 2013. Members may pay all dues arrearages, initiation or reinstatement fees, at the Local 177 office until 12 Noon on October 7 ,2013. Ballots will be mailed to each active member of Local 177, althat member's last known address, on or about September 18,2013. Returned voted ballots from members of Local 177 must be received by Election Services Solutions no later than 9:00 AM on October 8,2013, in order to be counted in this election. Members who do not receive a ballot in the mail by September 24,2013, may request a replacement ballot be sent to them from Monday to Fgiday from gAM - sPM. lf more than one ballot is received from a member, the ballot marked "duplicate" will be accepted. Members can telephone Election Services Solutions at 1 800 864 1263 up until 12 Noon on October 3, 2013 to request a duplicate ballot. Member must call personally and will receive a confirmation number.
