Watch out for hypotensive effects

Assess patients condition before therapy and regularly thereafter to monitor drug effectiveness Monitor vital signs specially the BP Do not crush or chew tablets Monitor urine output Tell patient to avoid taking OTC products containing alphaadrenergic stimulants (such as nasal decongestans, cold preparations), alcohol, smoking and to limit sodium intake.
