Look for a detailed e-mail about all the items available that evening. Ticket proceeds will benefit the Evening Associates of the Art Institute of Chicago. VALERIE CARBERRY GALLERY Valerie Carberry Gallery opened in 2002 with a focus on Modern and Postwar American art, specializing in modern sculpture and abstract work from the 1930s and '40s. The gallery also represents the estates of John Storrs and Jos de Rivera, as well as a select group of renowned mid-career artists. Valerie Carberry Gallery is known nationally for strong programming in American art, producing three to four major exhibitions each year with accompanying scholarly publications. Currently on view is DRAWINGS II through September 1 and features work by: John Storrs, Abraham Walkowitz, Hilaire Hiler, Tony Smith, Willard Grayson Smythe, Georges Vantongerloo, Robert Pearson McChesney, Evelyn Statsinger, Sam Glankoff, Jack Tworkov, Jim Lutes, Ellen Lanyon, Alice Neel, Adolph Gottlieb, Herbert Ferber, Judith Rothschild, Esphyr Slobodkina and Rolph Scarlett. Founded in Chicago in 1963 and located both in Chicago and New York, Richard Gray Gallery is one of the leading dealers in modern and contemporary American and European art, with museum as well as private clients worldwide. Richard Gray Gallery is collector oriented, offering artworks of exceedingly high quality as well as expert counsel in all areas of the field. The gallery has a reputation for excellence, integrity and discretion that it continues to earn by providing a high level of service to demanding clients. A visit to their gallery might reward you with an intimate view of anything from a rare Renoir portrait, a Cubist Picasso painting, a Willem de Kooning "Woman" or Roy Lichtenstein "Brushstroke" to current conceptual sculpture by Tatsuo Miyajima of Japan or Jaume Plensa from Barcelona. Currently on view is CONTEMPORARY AND MODERN MASTERS through August 31 and features work by: Magdalena Abakanowicz, Suzanne Caporael, Jim Dine, Sam Francis, David Hockney, Alex Katz, David Klamen, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Jaume Plensa, Frank Stella. KN GALLERY The gallery opened up with a bang in December 2006 as one of the most recent galleries on the scene. They debuted works of Anish Kapoor (Cloud Gate in Millennium Park) and showcased artwork by Milton Avery, Hans Hoffman, Franz Kline, Morris Louis, Robert Rauschenberg, Edward Steichen, Tom Wesselmann, the Zhou Brothers and more. KN Gallery is enthusiastically pursuing its goal to establish itself as one of the Chicago's leading galleries for viewing and acquiring works by leading 20th and 21st Century masters. Currently on view is HANS HOFFMAN'S EXUBERANT EYE which closes July 13 and a preview of RICO EASTMAN'S LABYRINTH STUDIES (opens July 19).
