Each student has individual needs and goals and at Malvern House we will work with you to make sure you get the most out of your course. This starts with pre-course learning advice and careful placement in a class of the right level. You will also receive a unique Malvern House Progress Diary, full of useful information and advice, where you can record your progress. Your teacher will use it with you to set goals in your individual learning plan, throughout your course during regular face to face tutorials and in your exit interview. There are weekly and monthly progress tests (in class and online) to consolidate learning and you have online access to your progress reports. Induction
On your rst day you will be welcomed by our friendly school sta who will give you an introduction to all aspects of life at Malvern House London to ensure you nd out everything you need to know to get the most from your time with us. The induction will include an introduction to key centre sta, an overview of the schools facilities and a tour of the local area as well as learning about the extra services we oer such as counselling and welfare support. At your induction you will also receive a Malvern House Welcome Pack which will include a student handbook, your personal progress diary and other useful information.
This is our very own school within the virtual world called English City created specically for learning English online. At Malvern House you have access to the Virtual School for 30 days before and a er your course. Creating and using your own avatar you can explore the city, meet other students, access study materials, seminars and live lessons from native teachers online. You will also meet key Malvern House sta during live seminars to prepare you for your course, the schools and life in London.

Skills Options
A flexible style of learning which allows you to modify your course after you have arrived. With the help of the teacher in identifying your needs to achieve your learning goals, we give you the opportunity to increase your studies as and when you want, with a variety of options to supplement your core course.
Conversation
Improve your conversational English by practising speaking, listening, pronunciation and vocabulary. You will become more fluent and confident when speaking English.
Writing
Pronunciation
Improve your writing for daily life and also for pleasure. Learn how to write formal and informal letters, emails and texts, stories and poems etc. The course will provide you with a model text and give you practice in the process of writing and awareness of the type of language used.
Speak more clearly and be easily understood. This module will also help your listening too and make you a more effective and confident communicator. You will learn the individual sounds of English and the other features of pronunciation, such as intonation and sentence stress.
Learn everything from how to get a job to what to do in work situations eg using the telephone, emails, meetings, small talk etc. Feel at ease speaking English with your colleagues, whatever kind of job you do.

There is plenty to do in London when your classes end and you will never be bored. We will connect you with everything thats happening in London.
How much?
900 per month is the recommended amount to meet your accommodation and living expenses in London. Students get 30% off their travel costs for courses of 14 weeks and longer. Ask in reception on how to get your Oyster Card (Travel Card).
Jobs
There are many jobs in London for students in shops, cafes, restaurants, hotels and other areas. The minimum wage in the UK is 6.19 per hour if you are over 21 . If you have a Working Holiday Visa or a EU/EEA passport, you can get a job while you are in London. Students on a Student Visa, Extended Student Visitor Visa, or General Student Visa cannot work.

Our Courses
English Courses At all levels, students study the four skills (reading, writing, speaking & listening), language patterns, and learning strategies. The English Unlimited course book and workbook is published by Cambridge and is new to Oman. The course book is used for a maximum of 60% in the course. With 40% of the course, we will explore other resources, use technology, have tutorials, complete project work and more. Every week we meet with our students to assess their progress and steer them to improve. Technology is used including mobile learning, our new IT labs, and DVD ROMs. We give our students options with classwork and homework and insist on a minimum participation. We are linked to a worldwide organisation, which offers options for studying overseas (London, Dublin, Cyprus, Singapore, Malaysia). We link language practice and productive skills to the workplace. We offer student-centred learning, based on communicative, task- based activities. Practice of all 4 skills: speaking, reading, writing, listening. Juniors are exposed to useful, everyday, functional English phrases and idioms. There are 20 lessons per week of 45 minutes each. All students are placed in classes according to their English level and age groups.
Family Programme
