Shelly Hill You don't need a college degree to succeed in life. If you love to learn, use the internet instead. There is so much free information out there to last you a lifetime. Like Reply 27 June 15 at 5:16pm

Alex Lozano Not every one is capable of learning on their own even with vids. Mainly because they would not have any one to talk to to really understand the info. Like 1 June 15 at 5:53pm

Danial Saadi sad thing is that you need a paper that prooves what you have learned before you can get a high payed job, that paper my friend cost Like 5 June 15 at 6:01pm

Shelly Hill I am paid very well, and no degree here. Your salary depends on your ambition, if you want anything bad enough, you can obtain it. Ok, you can't be a Doctor without a degree, but there are millions of other things you can be. Like 6 June 15 at 6:39pm

Marian Morgan I got my degree for free in England in the 1970s. It was a lot of work though - studying work, of course. Like June 16 at 3:12am

Kealani Hoku it is horrible how they are discontinuing grants, horrible interest rates on school loans... soon college will be an option only for the rich, cleaving our country, making a wider gap between the haves, and the have nots!!! Like June 16 at 9:01am

Luis Faria However, if they lack good and strong knowledge foundations they cant improve it by internet. Like June 16 at 11:21am

Karen Anne Dowdall It doesn't matter how much knowledge you gain if it is not certified by professionals of this same group who have proved by their organized discipline standards they truly know what they are doing. Do you want a doctor to operate on you because he learned it on the internet? We all know how reliable that is - not!

*Im a veteran who used my MGIB (free school + BAH) and was still forced to take student loans out while getting my bachelors. It doesnt matter who you are, if you go to college in america, you will spend the next 10-20 years paying off that debt. So you go to college, to pay off the fact that you went to college. Then you retire when you are all paid off. Makes sense. I love spending my life worrying about bills, I mean thats the meaning of life right? To worry about how to keep your phone and electric on, having to borrow money to pay a rent, then find a way to make money to pay back the person you borrowed from. A means to an end? No, a means.... to struggle, that's all. *The borrower is servant to the lender. It is loansharking with a permit from lawbreakers who have many believe they can actually "make law". One "borrows" a sum, say 100, of interest bearing notes at whatever %. Then after whatever math and time magicthey have concluded will be profitable, one ends up owing 200 back. It is called usury. Why do people do this? Then they are force-fed a load of propaganda that is "government sanctioned" and given a piece of paper (they tell you it is a degree) that cost 40k or more. That "degree" is in exchange for ones discernment. One who hangs a degree on the office wall unwittingly admits that he has forfeited his power of discernment to an institution.

*Debrah Huber As an ex prof. we must be aware that what passes for education is often a
dumbing down .. university was once for the intellectual elite. and trade schools for those amongst us who needed practical skills to survive in the new economy .. Now university is seen as a trade school yet it in most cases, it leaves the graduate floundering If the big money making, top of the list, majors were not followed it leaves graduates in debt and bewildered. As for the internet and its free information .. how do people learn to sift the information. It is a huge input and without KNOWLEDGE it is overwhelming and mostly regurgitated nonsense and opinion .. IMHO

*Here is a shot in the dark. So big banks get lower interest rates because they are large credible institutions that have lots of money, why doesn't someone just make a collective of people willing to invest into making a group that could provide that service and reach that level of credibility?
