Glamorama Grabbed the Bull By The Horns Before heading off to Macys Glamorama: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, we knew we were in for some fun yall, just with the clothes itself. Getting in the mood for this years Glam took an inspiring turn after asking the experts just how they will mix their couture with country. CSs Graham Kostic taught us a few things on getting cowgirl/boy glam. He says, Its really all about the attitude. Whether youve roped cattle or notI, surprisingly, haveyou just have to walk tall and carry yourself like youve done it a million times. Adding a few Yalls and Yee-haws here and there wont hurt either. Just strap on a pair of killer, kick-ass boots and boogie down. Thats how Im planning to unleash my inner cowboy at Glamorama. And really, if all else fails, your best bet? Tequila. Once we hit Glam's red carpet we spotted country's finest crooners, entertainment royalty like Gretchen Wilson, Cowboy Troy and Big & Rich who dazzled us with their performances later on that night during the fashion show. On the runway we spotted gorgeous fall hues like rich purples, grays and browns, lots of statement outerwear and origami-esque dresses our favorite was a green satin from Donna Karen. Designers included Marc Jacob's (who is opening a Chicago store in October), Donna Karen, Moschino, Calvin Klein and Just Cavalli. Glam sponsor the Fur Fault had a little extra fun with the country theme, sending out models in cutt-off shorts, long fur coats and cowboy hats to complete their look. And don't forget about our over-the-top post party, Macys Trend Correspondent, Laura Schara warned. Dont worry, that we could never do with the party being one of our favorites of the year. Guests spent the evening in Macy's Wild West playground topped off with great food by Macy's Culinary Council Chef Cat Cora, music from DJ Rukus who's a really hot Hollywood DJ, as well as, Mechanical Bull Rides with proceeds going to the Art Institute of Chicago,! Schara added. We even spotted Graham later that night grabbing the bull by the horns. But, it wasn't just a ho' down, Glamorama raised $400,000 benefiting the Art Institute of Chicago this year, with a total of $2 million since the benefit started eight years ago. -M.M.
