Rationale This subject is intended to teach the students about various aspects of digital circuits and operational Amplifier. Students also get the basic concept of digital circuits and its applications in various systems This will also enable them to learn the idea of computer hardware and the elements of industrial automation in future.

OBJECTIVES MODULE I 1.1.0. Understand the Number systems & Digital Circuits 1.1.1. Know binary and hexadecimal, numbers systems 1.1.2. Convert decimal, hexadecimal to binary and vice versa 1.1.3. Study binary addition, subtraction, multiplications and divisions and study BCD code 1.1.4. Know 1s and 2s complement and subtraction using complement 1.1.5. Know about logic gates 1.1.6. Study truth table of AND, OR, NOT, NAND, NOR, and EX-OR gates 1.1.7. Know about TTL, ECL and CMOS - windows and profiles of different families 1.1.8. Study sourcing and sinking current of different logic family. 1.1.9. Compare different logic families MODULE II 2.1.0. Combinational logic circuits 2.1.1. Study the Boolean algebra, 2.1.2. Study the universal gates using NAND and NOR gates 2.1.3. Study the De Morgans Theorem 2.1.4. Study the use of K map for solving Boolean expressions having 4 variables. 2.1.5.
