4 GB or 3.25GB post

Hi Everyone,
I have an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 and Asus P5Q Pro motherboard and have installed G.Skill 2x2GB RAMs. My problem is when Windows
loads the entire 4 GB is not detected. But when I right-click on My Computer it displays 3.25GB of RAM. Could you please tell me what could
the problem be? Do I have to modify the BIOS? Please help.

This is because you are using a 32-bit OS.
If you get a 64-bit OS, it will solve your
problem. A 32-bit OS supports a maximum
4 GB of memory which includes the graphic card memory.

bbetween 3 to 3.5 GB depending on your graphics card.

Use software like Ultra ISO or Power ISO to make ISO images
from files and folders.

I would suggest a Dell 1525. It has a decent configuration with – Bibhudatta Behera
customizing options (including TV tuner card) and would be

An internal card cannot be used with a laptop as there’s no Learn Unix on Windows tip

PCI or PCIe slot to insert it. Use an external card with an USB,
ExpressCard or Cardbus. You can’t use a TV box, because
there’s no VGA input for laptop. Check out Pinnacle cards or
AVerMedia MediaCenter. They have the same distributor.

DVD with a .avi format post

I want to burn a movie on an empty DVD which is in the .avi format (usually around 700MB) and make it playable on a DVD player (no DivX
support) to watch it on TV. Is there any way of doing so using some application? I worked it in Nero, but failed. Please provide me with a
working solution.

DVD or HDD — Camcorder? post

I’m confused, which is a better deal between a DVD and HDD
based video camcorder. Which one has lot of merit and why?

HDD based because it has more storage size
than DVD, is easily re-editable within the
camcorder itself. There is no need to count
on the DVD numbers, no need to fear getting scratches
and DVD failure (CRC error). Whereas the DVD based
camcorder is lighter, hot swappable, and crash free. But
all over the HDD based is most preferable and efficient.

Hi Friends.
I have a SAMSUNG S630 Digital Camera. It contained a very good
collection of photos. But I lend it to a friend who accidentally
formatted the memory card. Are there any chances of recovering
tthe photos? Please suggest a data recovery software, preferably a

If your friend has not used the camera after
formatting, meaning if there is no overwriting
done, it is 100% recoverable. Try TestDisk,
PHOTORECOVERY or PC Inspector File Recovery 4.0

Adding subtitles to a file post

I have six parts of a movie file. I downloaded subtitle which is a Download Flash files

single file. Now the problem is, how do I play the movie with the
subtitle? I know that the file name of the movie and subtitle file
should be same. In this case there are six movie files and one
subtitle file. I’m stuck. Please do reply. Thanks in advance.

Use any subtitle processing software to
split the subtitle file. Subtitle workshop is a good
choice. Alternately convert the movie into one
file using VirtualDub or any other video combining
software. I’d suggest splitting the subtitles, but when you
combine video there is a probability of the audio/video going
out of sync or some lag may be introduced at the point where
the video is joined, throwing the entire compilation out of sync

Here is a simple & best tip. There is no need to
download any other software. Open Firefox, visit the
page containing the animation and let it play once. Go
to the address bar and type about:cache and check the
ddisk cache and the memory cache for flash files. You can do this by
oopening the find window (ctrl + f) and type .swf. You will find links to
tthe flash files which you’ve viewed. Search for the desired file, right-
cclick on the link and choose Save Link As and the file will be saved to
yyour computer. Save flash games, animation, anything in Flash.. :)
TTested and working 100 % by me.
