TOPIC: talking about films VOCABULARY: words related to films, types of films; adjectives to describe opinion STRUCTURES: take phrasal verbs and collocations FUNCTIONS: expressing positive and negative opinions

AIMS: during the lesson, the students will: Learn new thematic vocabulary related to types of films Speak about films, expressing their own opinions Distinguish between collocations and phrasal verbs Learn how to get the main idea from a text, but also how to look for details Learn how to write a short film review OBJECTIVES: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to: Name types of films Ask for opinion and give positive or negative opinion Use take correctly- in phrasal verbs and collocations Read extensively and intensively a text for detailed understanding of the text ANTICIPATED PROBLEMS: I anticipated the following problems: Students may find difficult to identify the types of films and the pictures from the textbook Students might be shy at the first interaction with a new teacher TEACHING TECHNIQUES: brainstorming, personalized questions, crosswords, elicitation, comprehension questions, skimming, scanning, presentation INTERACTION: pair work, individual work, team work, peer-correction SKILLS: speaking, reading, writing, vocabulary MATERIALS: video projector, worksheets,whiteboardboard, textbooks, posters, markers, NOTES: .

1. WARM-UP

- teacher introduces herself - students write down their favourite film on a tent cards that sit on their desks. Students display the title of their favourite film to the others.

2. LEAD - IN

-T presents the topic of the lesson. She asks Ss to look at the pictures and say the title of the film, to name the characters and the type of film.

3. PRESENTATION

-teacher ask students to name other types of films. After that, students are shown a PowerPoint presentation with types of films. Students have to guess the genre of film looking at the given posters. For each correct answer, a student gains 10 pounds (virtually, of course). READING - looking again at the page 91, teacher ask students if they have ever seen Star Wars. Together with their deskmates, they have to read the text and answer the given questions 8. CONTROLLED -encourage students to talk about themselves -get more confident in using English in conversations - skimming and scanning the text.
