0600232 Coordinator of Residence Life & Housing Staff Student Affairs Goldsmith Campus Exempt 37.5 No Response No Response Yes Job Function: The Coordinator of Residence Life & Housing is a full-time, exempt position and reports to the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs. This position supervises student staff and works with residents in order to build and maintain a residential community that supports the academic mission of the College. Oversees an off- site residential facility, within an apartment complex, of approximately 120 diverse residential students. The overall expectations of the Coordinator of Residence Life & Housing are many and can be broken down into four categories: staff member, paraprofessional supervisor, community developer and administrator. This position should also have a diverse knowledge of student population issues, including diversity, alcohol and other drugs, safety and security, and health concerns in a College environment and strategies to positively impact students. Responsibilities: -Manages the day-to-day student related operations of the residential community (leased apartment units). -Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates Resident Assistant staff members. -Creates and monitors Resident Assistant duty coverage master calendar. -Serves as a live-in/on-call emergency contact person/crisis manager for the residential community. -Maintains and documents housing business, records and payment functions. -Oversees the planning and execution of educational, cultural, social, and community programming for residential students. -Develops and administers marketing campaigns as it relates to the Otis Student Housing Program. -Coordinates opening and closing procedures, key distribution and collection, apartment inspections, maintenance and repair requests, damage and cleaning functions. -Coordinates the housing application and assignment process, including roommate pairings. -Maintains and updates housing rosters and related records.

-Assists in maintaining best practices as it relates to the residential practices. -Assists in maintaining the Otis classifieds ad as it relates to off campus housing resources and relationships with housing providers and vendors. -Works in collaboration with the Continuing Education office to provide temporary housing for the Summer of Art Program while hiring, training, and implementing a summer housing experience for minor aged students. -Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in a related field of higher education and with minimum 2 years' experience working in a college or university residence life program required, with live-in residence hall experience preferred. Must demonstrate experience working with staff and students within and outside of a traditional office setting. Must demonstrate the ability to provide effective on-call coverage for crisis/emergency response, crisis assessment, victim assistance/advocacy, personal counseling/referral, conflict mediation, and incident debriefing for the residential community.
