Admissions Special Project Assistant USC School of Social Work Office of Admissions and Scholarship Programs

The Admissions Special Project Assistant is a general position in the USC School of Social Works Virtual Academic Center Office of Admission for the Master of Social Work program. This position is located at the AT&T City Center downtown, 1 mile away from campus (shuttles are provided from UPC to City Center everyday). Position Description: The Admissions Special Project Assistant position provides an excellent opportunity for a graduate student to gain experience in the admissions field. Following the cycle of the admissions process, the primary tasks involve helping with admission projects for special interest groups (ie: advanced standing, international, dual-degree, and transfer students), recruitment activities in the summer and fall, and admissions activities in the spring. Admissions activities may include: Application processing Data entry and analysis Tracking student information Evaluating transcripts Calculating GPAs Participating in matriculation events Representing the program at graduate school fairs Qualifications: The ideal candidate is a graduate student in the PASA program who is interested in the area of admissions, recruitment, web-based & on-campus programs. Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to handle confidential student information in a professional manner. Candidate must be a self-starter who is organized, detailoriented, and able to meet firm deadlines. Compensation: 8 units of tuition for 1 year of work August 2013 - July 2014. Approximately 20 hrs/week with occasional after hours or weekend work.
