What is Digital Design?

Digital Design, a term used to describe a wide variety of computer related skills. This includes work in such fields
as Print media, web design, digital image, moving image and 3d modelling. The term can be further expanded to
any digitally created media.
In this course, you will learn skills in Adobe Photoshop, Google Sketchup and upload all work and create your own
blog using
weebly.com

Weebly Website
Weebly is a blog creator that we will use to create your
own individual websites. All your work that we do on
photoshop and sketchup will be uploaded to your
website, to make it open to the public as well as a tool
for me to assess your work.
To start your weebly website:
Go to www.weebly.com and sign up (you will need an email to do this)
Follow the steps following your sign up process choose a template and use
your first and last name for your FREE website. E.g www.joebloggs.weebly.com

To do this go to the tool bar up the top of the web page and click on pages

Click on add a page and give the page a title, e.g exercises. Choose the layout you want for that page then click
save.

Do this 4 times for each different page

On each page change the pages picture by hovering over the right hand corner of the picture and click edit image.
Follow the steps to upload a saved image. (if you dont have an image in your pictures library, find one on google
images that relates to the page you are designing. E.g photoshop : poster design? Save this image to your pictures
library) Do this to all four pages.

In the top tool bar you will see under elements, these are the things which create your website. This is where you
can add images and text. To do so simply click on what you would like and drag down to your page where you
want it. If you decide you dont want that element anymore, simply go to the right hand corner of the element
(once it has been placed on your page) and a red x should come up. Click to delete that element.

Dividing a page into columns


To add columns to a page, simple click on the columns icon under the elements section in the top tool bar. Drag it
to where you want it on the page and drop.
From there you can pick weather you want 2,3,4 or more columns. Once your columns are place on the page then
you can drag either writing or images into the column.

would like you to research a little bit into these designers:

Kerry Roper

In your columns you should show a picture of the designers work and tell me
something interesting about their style of work.

Under your exercises page, drag and drop a PARAGRAPH WITH A TITLE element. Give
this exercise the title: ASPECTS OF DESIGN

Principles of Design
The principles of design govern the relationships of the elements of design to create a
successful composition. Successful designs contain the use of the principles and
elements to serve us as designers to achieve visual goals.

Find the definitions for each of these words:

Hierachy

Under the exercise page on your weebly blog, drag and drop the column element and create 3
columns
In the first column upload the logo that is on the following page. To do this drag the PICTURE
element into the first column.
