Christopher Garlin
President
As director of the Domus Corporation from 1995 to 2004, a housing development firm, Garlin
was responsible for the development of several hundred housing units, including family, senior
and special-need housing, located throughout northern New Jersey. He successfully secured
millions of dollars in project funding from various federal, state and local programs, as well as
from private sources.
At the Community Preservation Corporation from 1989 to 1995, a private lender specializing in
construction and permanent financing for low- to middle-income housing throughout the region,
Garlin originated financing for projects ranging from the condominium conversion of a building
located in the historic Hamilton Heights section of Manhattan to a major mixed-use, multi-
building project on West 135th St.
Garlin has served on the community advisory boards of several major banks, including PNC,
Chase and Sovereign. He is a member of the Montclair Housing Commission; a Board Member
with Brand New Day, Inc., a community development corporation based in Elizabeth, N.J.; a
past president of the Housing and Community Development Network of New Jersey and a
former commissioner on the Jersey City Planning Board.
Garlin is a graduate of New York University. He resides in Montclair, N.J., with his wife Regina
and their two children.
Garlin began her career in 1988 as a financial accountant with Douglas Elliman, a real estate
brokerage house in New York. While at Douglas Elliman, she excelled in financial accounting
and investment management advancing to assistant controller of Corporate Accounting. After
leaving Douglas Elliman in 1995, she joined Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, one of the
world’s largest hotels and resort companies.
Garlin is a member of the National Association of Female Executives; the National Association
of Mortgage Brokers; the N.J. Chapter - National Association of Minority Real Estate
Professionals; the New Jersey Association of Woman Business Owners and serves on the New
Jersey Banking Department’s Committee for Financial Literacy.
Ms. Garlin is a graduate of Rutgers University and resides in Montclair, N.J., with her husband
Christopher and their two children.
