Adapted Programs for Special Needs!
The Therapeutic Recreation/Prevention Intervention Office provides programs and
services that embrace Arlington County’s vision of creating a community environment
that promotes health and wellness for individuals who are at risk or have special needs.
The TR/PI office also provides reasonable accommodations in general recreation classes
and programs as well. Participants must be able to work well in a group environment;
participation is encouraged buy not forced. Our programmers work with parents,
participants and instructors to meet the needs of the participant. This could include
adaptations to program, staff training, ASL interpreters and more. There are also programs
are specifically designed for individuals with physical, emotional, social or cognitive/
mental challenges. These programs provide a low staff to participant ratio and small group
sizes to better meet the needs of all. For more information call 703-228-4740.
