FLS is one of a select number of schools accredited both by CEA (Commission on English Language Program Accreditation) and ACCET (Accrediting Council on Continuing Education and Training). Both are national accrediting agencies recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. We are also members of the American Association of Intensive English Programs (AAIEP) and active participants in NAFSA and TESOL.
Here are a few of the features that make FLS programs so effective:
Varied activities every term that take you to the sights surrounding each campus Unique English Everywhere tools that guide you through each week of the curriculum Free college placement with UPP for students who attend FLS for 8 weeks or more Language Extension Day activities that introduce you to new aspects of American life Class readers that provide extensive reading practice and introduce you to American culture Daily Academic Workshops offering helpful guidance and teacher support in specific skill areas
The FLS Core Classes are the Key to Your Learning Success
FLS Core Classes are the foundation of our English Language Programs. Made up of 9 levels, the core sequence is an integrated skills curriculum that teaches speaking, listening, reading and writing with current techniques, contemporary materials, teacher coaching and communicative activities. Our approach simulates the way you learned your native language, through the natural use of all skills together. Our core sequence takes students from a basic understanding of simple English communication all the way to the proficiency required for success at an American college.
Academic English
Our most powerful program, Academic English has six hours per day of quality language instruction, including two electives and a daily Academic Workshop. Its the perfect option for students desiring to transfer to an American college or university or quickly attain English fluency.
Intensive English
This popular program offers three different classes each day. In addition to a Core Class, students take a focused elective on a specific skill or topic and an Academic Workshop to round out the school day.
General English
This stimulating combination of the Core Class and a daily Academic Workshop, such as our pronunciation clinic, conversation club, American music workshop and more, will take students English skills to new levels.
Vacation English
This program offers complete instruction in the basics of English while still allowing plenty of time for fun and exploration. Note: Not available for students on an F-1 visa.
