Introduction

Background of the study Computers play a momentous role in every corner of the society. They are simply tool that offer opportunity to collect and store enormous volumes of data, process business transactions with a great degree of sped and accuracy and provide timely and relevant information for management. It is essential device in homes, schools, hospitals, banks and business. Nowadays, business people define the applications and problems to be solved by the computer. But, unfortunately this potential has not been fully or even adequately realized in some business. It is because users may not fully understand the capabilities and limitations of modern computers technology. Some people want to know more about computer, some look at it as an extraordinary device but others still fear it thinking that someday, this device will dominate the world. Simply this tell us that computers touches every human endeavor which we cannot ignore its existence. But, besides from that it is also considered as the backbone of modern transaction. These are just enumerable things that information technology can give us. Despite all of its current and future technological capabilities, the computer still owes its power and usefulness to people. This tells us that computer and mankind lie together. Municipality of Appari does the monitoring Attendance of Employee and generates reports manually. The researchers noticed that preparing Attendance sheet is good for the attachment of document to the form 7 like the form 6 wherein it will take 2 to 4 days to process and duplication of data entry. Statement of the problem This study aim to come up with a design and develop an Personnel Attendance Monitoring System using biometric in Municipality of Appari. Specifically, this study will sought answer to the following questions: 1. How long is the flow of the present system? 2. How is the flow of the proposed system? 3. How secured the data in the present system compared with the proposed system? 4. How efficient the present system with that of proposed system? 5. Is there a significant difference between the proposed systems in generating reports?

Assumptions of the study The following are the statement of facts related to research problem, which the researchers presume to be true base on observation although not actually verified. These are self-evident truth which is based upon known facts or phenomena regarding the existing system. 1. The school has already computer machines to provide the need and improve the existing system. 2. The school does not have computer programmers. 3. The existing system of the school is not yet automated although has computer machines. General objectives

The main objective of the study was to design and develop a computer aided employee attendance monitoring system using barcode.

Specific Objectives 1. Familiarized with their organizational structure of office, including the duties and responsibilities and each personnel involved in the system. 2. To avoid time and effort consuming in monitoring the attendance. 3. To have an easy and faster preparation of attendance reports.
