Jerry Cantrell - guitars/vocals Mike Inez - bass (ex-Ozzy Osbourne, ex-Black Label Society, ex-Jerry Cantrell, Skin On Skin) Sean Kinney - drums (ex-Jerry Cantrell) William DuVall - Vocals (Comes With The Fall)
Former/past member(s)
Layne Staley (R.I.P. April 5, 2002 from an apparent drug overdose) - vocals, guitars on occasion (Mad Season) Mike Starr - Bass on Facelift and Dirt (see also Sun Red Sun) Nick Pollock - Lead Guitars (1985-1986) (My Sister's Machine) Wes Armstrong - Vocals (1985-1986) Scotty Olson - Guitar (session member on the unplugged show) At some point in 1986 or so, Jim Sheppard (Sanctuary (US), Nevermore) was in the band too playing bass.
Additional notes
The band was called Sleze, Alice N Chains, Diamond Lie and then Alice in Chains. Mike Starr was the longtime bassist before Mike Inez. Contrary to popular belief, Alice In Chains aren't just grunge. Among all the bands involved with the whole American grunge take over, Alice In Chains have always been the most metallic. Layne Staley passed away due to an overdose of heroin and cocaine in 2002. The band has reformed for a few festival dates and a possible tour. While there has been some talk of a new album, at the moment no details about it are known.

Formerly known as Lucifer's Heritage. Oliver Holzwarth (Sieges Even) has for all intents and purposes been the fifth member of Blind Guardian since "Nightfall In MiddleEarth," but has not been officially added to the line-up in case Hansi should decide he wants to start playing bass again in the future. Thomen Stauch left in 2005 after 22 years claiming dissatisfaction with the direction the band had taken on their two most recent albums.

Chris Barnes was the vocalist, lyricist, and a large part of the creative force of the band on their first four albums. He was asked to leave the band because he was spending too much time on his side project band Six Feet Under (US) instead of Cannibal Corpse. Carcass is considered the major inspiration and musical foundation for most gore metal and deathgrind/goregrind bands. The band was first known as Disattack, playing hardcore / punk back in 1985. After releasing their first demo in '86, their bass player left the band and Jeff Walker joined them after leaving Electro Hippies. By that time, they were also changing their name to Carcass, whose logo was drawn by Jeff Walker. Soon their drummer was replaced

Nefarious - Bass, Vocals Dennis The Menace - Drums Corporate Death - Guitar, Vocals
Additional notes
Many credit Macabre as being one of the first bands to play a style of music which would influence death metal. They weren't really a death metal band themselves but their lyrical content and grindcore sounds furthered what would become death metal.
Macabre has been known to refer to their style of music as ``murder metal`` which is also the name of their 2003 full-length album. Corporate Death interviewed serial killers Jeffrey Dahmer (for the "Dahmer"-album) and John Wayne Gacy while they were still alive. C.D. also withnessed Gacy's trial and took notes for lyrics.

They're the first death metal band to have a significant commercial success, selling over a million albums throughout their career. This is due in part to them being the first death metal band to get signed to a major record label called Giant. Giant records was in association with Warner Brothers records.
