Chapter 1
VoIP Configuration Commands

1.1 area
To set busy tone type detection for ports, use the area command. To return to the default, use the no form of this command. area { north-america | custom | europe } no area

Syntax Description
north-america The busy tone type of the switch connected to this interface is of North America standard. custom The busy tone type of the switch connected to this interface is defined by the users. europe The busy tone type of the switch connected to this interface is of Europe standard.

Default
By default, europe busy tone type standard is set.

Command Mode
Voice-port configuration mode

Usage Guideline
This command is used only for 2-wire loop trunk interface FXO, and it can only perform configuration to the first port on the voice interface card. If successful, the configuration will be effective for all the ports of the voice interface card. When this interface is connected to a common user line of a program-controlled switch, if the user on the switch side hooks on first, only by detecting the busy tone can the router know the user on-hooking operation. Since different switches execute different prompt tone schemes, there exist different frequency spectrum characteristics. This command is used to set the frequency spectrum characteristic used by the router to detect the existence of the busy tone.

Example
! The following example uses north-america standard to detect the existence of the busy tone on port 0. Quidway(config-voice-port0)# area north-america

1.2 cancel-truncate
To cancel the truncating of a called number, use the cancel-truncate command. To return to the default, so as to truncate a called number, use the no form of this command. cancel-truncate no cancel-truncate

1-2

User Manual - Command Reference (Volume 3) Versatile Routing Platform

Chapter 1
VoIP Configuration Commands

Default
By default, truncate a called number.

Command Mode
Dial-peer configuration mode

Usage Guideline
In common cases, if the structure of POTS dial-peer type is defined on the FXO, E&M or E1VI interfaces, and the destination-pattern is configured with a wild-card ., then when the router receives an incoming call, it will truncate and delete the fixed number before the wild-card by default, and only transmit the number to which the wild-card corresponds from this interface. Whereas if the function of cancel-truncate is configured, a called number will not be truncated, and all the numbers received will be transmitted from the trunk interface. For instance, a POTS dial-peer structure is configured on the FXO interface, the destination-pattern is configured as 9 . (the four dots as the wild-card), then when the router receives an incoming call whose number is 91234, the router will delete the 9 on the FXO interface by default, and transmit only the 1234 through the FXO interface; if cancel-truncate is configured, the router will transmit the whole number (91234), without deleting the 9. This function enables routers to flexibly process numbers according to different switches at the remote end.

Example
! The following example configures POTS dial-peer, the number before the wild-card is 9, and transmits all the received numbers from the FXO interface. Quidway(config-peer-pots1)# destination-pattern 9.... Quidway(config-peer-pots1)# cancel-truncate

Related Command

1.3 codec
To set the voice codec mode according to priority level, use the codec demand. To return to the default, use the no form of this command. codec { 1st-priority-level | 2nd-priority-level | 3rd-priority-level | 4th-priority-level } { g711alaw | g711ulaw | g723r53 | g723r63 | g729r8 } no codec { 1st-priority-level | 2nd-priority-level | 3rd-priority-level | 4th-prioritylevel }

Syntax Description
1st-priority-level Indicate the first selected voice codec method. 2nd-priority-level Indicate the second selected voice codec method. 3rd-priority-level Indicate the third selected voice codec method. 4th-priority-level Indicate the fourth selected voice codec method.

g711alaw Indicate the A-law coding mode of G.711 (defining the pulse code modulation technology), the bandwidth is 64kbit/s, usually adopted by Europe. g711ulaw Indicate the -law coding mode of G.711, the bandwidth is 64kbit/s, usually adopted by countries of the North America and Japan, etc. g723r53 Indicate G.723.1 Annex A (dual-speed voice coding of multi-media communication, based on multi-pulse, multi-level quantization and code excited linear prediction technology) coding mode, the bandwidth is 5.3kbit/s. g723r63 Indicate G.723.1 Annex A coding mode, the bandwidth is 6.3kbit/s. g729r8 Indicate G.729 (the voice coding technology using conjugate algebraic code excited linear prediction) coding mode, the bandwidth is 8kbit/s.

Default
By default, g729r8 coding mode is set.

Command Mode
Dial-peer configuration mode

Usage Guideline
Use codec command to specify voice codec modes of different priority levels. g711alaw and g711ulaw coding provide high-quality voice transmission, but occupy greater bandwidth. g723r53 and g723r63 coding provide silence suppression technology and comfort noise, the relatively higher speed output is based on multi-pulse multi-quantitative level technology and provides relatively higher voice quality to certain extent, and the relatively lower speed output is based on the code excited linear prediction technology and provides greater flexibility for application. The voice quality provided by the g729r8 coding is similar to the ADPCM of 32kbit/s, having the quality of a toll, and also featuring low bandwidth, lesser event delay and medium processing complexity, hence it has a wide field of application. Only when there is an intersection (a codec mode recognized by both parties) in the voice codec modes owned by the two communication parties can the two parties establish normal communication with each other. If there is no consistency in the codec modes set for the equipment at the two ends connected to each other, or there is no common codec method, the calling will fail.

Example
! Then following example configures to select g723r53 codec method first, then to select the g729r8 codec method. Quidway(config-peer-voip2)# codec 1st-priority-level g723r53 Quidway(config-peer-voip2)# codec 2nd-priority-level g729r8

VoIP Configuration Commands

comfort-noise no comfort-noise

Default
By default, comfort noise setting is enabled.

Command Mode
Voice-port configuration mode

Usage Guideline
The command comfort-noise is used to enable comfort noise setting. When the silence detecting function on a corresponding voice dial-peer is enabled, some background noise can be generated by using the command to fill the toneless intervals during a conversation. If no comfort noise is generated, the toneless intervals during a conversation will cause the interlocutors uncomfortable.

Example
! The following example disables comfort noise function on voice port 1. Quidway(config-voice-port1)# no comfort-noise

1.5 connection
To specify a connection mode for the voice port and the E.164 telephone number of the destination end, use the connection command. To disable the specified connection mode, use the no form of this command. connection plar string no connection plar

Syntax Description
plar Indicate to select PLAR (Private Line Auto Ringdown) connection mode. string The E.164 telephone number of the destination end, and it may include the wild-card ..

Command Mode
Voice-port configuration mode

Usage Guideline
The connection command is used to specify a connection mode for interface. When parameter plar is used, the string configured will serve as the called number of all the calls incoming to this voice port, i.e., after off-hook, the user need not perform any operation and the system will dial out the string as the called number automatically.

string Indicate E.164 or digits of a private telephone number. The effective input is: l l l 0 - 9, #, *. ,, indicating a pause between digits. ., used as a wild-card, indicating that it can match any input digit.

Command Mode
Dial-peer configuration mode

Usage Guideline
Use destination-pattern command to define an E.164 number for a dial peer, so as to match the dial to this dial-peer. If successful, the call will be completed by the dial-peer. When the command is used to set the E.164 telephone number, and when the router receives a call request, it will strip off the mode string according to the telephone number carried in the message. If a prefix is configured, the prefix will be added to the telephone number carried. If all the modes are successfully matched, the user will hear a ring back tone.

& Note: VRP software does not verify the validity of an E.164 number.

Example
! The following example sets 5557922 as the telephone number of dial-peer 10. Quidway(config-peer-pots10)# destination-pattern +5557922 ! The following example sets 66 . as the destination mode of dial-peer 20. Quidway(config-peer-pots20)# destination-pattern 66....

Syntax Description
g723 Download the G.723.1 codec protocol program to the voice interface card. g729 Download the G.729.1 codec protocol program to the voice interface card. board-num Serial numbers of the voice interface cards to which the program is downloaded. The value range is from 0 to 17318.

Default
By default, select to download g729 codec protocol.

Command Mode
Global configuration mode

Usage Guideline
In the application note that the program running on the same voice interface card can only simultaneously support G.711 and G.723.1, or G.711 and G.729, but cannot simultaneously support G.729 and G.723.1 protocols. As a called party, the codec protocol supported on the voice card should be in consistency with the codec type set in the dial-peer of the POTS type that had been established relation with the card port; and as a caller, the codec protocol on the card should be in consistency with codec type set in the dial-peer of the VolP type used during the outgoing calling from the POTS port on the card. Otherwise it will lead to unidirectional conversation or even no conversation. When changing the codec protocol program on the voice card, be sure to check the codec protocol setting of the dial-peer related to the port on the voice card.

1.11 echo-cancel
To configure echo-cancel function parameters, use the echo-cancel command. To cancel the echo-cancel function parameters setting, use the no form of this command. echo-cancel { enable | coverage coverage-time } no echo-cancel { enable | coverage }

Syntax Description
enable Indicate to enable an echo-cancel function. coverage coverage-time Adjust the length of an echo-cancel sampling time. The values for the coverage-time are 16, 24 and 32 in millisecond (ms).

Default
By default, the echo-cancel function is enabled and the coverage-time is 16 ms.

Command Mode
Voice-port configuration mode

Usage Guideline
Use the echo-cancel coverage command, if the voice originated from a certain interface is fed back within a specified time, this part of voice (echo) will be cancelled. If a too large time value is set, the converge time of the echo canceling on the network will become longer, so when the connection has just been established, the user may hear the echo; and if the time value is set as too small, the user may also hear part of the echo, because the relatively longer echo has not been completely cancelled. There are no echo and echo-cancel on the IP side.

& Note: Only when being used in combination with the echo-cancel coverage command will effect the echo-cancel enable command.

Example
! The following example sets the echo-cancel sampling time as 24 ms on voice port 1. Quidway(config-voice-port1)# echo-cancel enable Quidway(config-voice-port1)# echo-cancel coverage 24

Chapter 1
VoIP Configuration Commands

Default
By default, priority-number is 0.

Command Mode
Dial-peer configuration mode

Usage Guideline
Specify the voice flow IP data package priority level related to this dial-peer. In the command, when the value of priority-number is between 1 and 5, it indicates that the configuration is set for the IP data flow, and values 6 and 7 are used for the update of the network and backbone routers. For instance, in order to ensure the voice flow related to the dial-peer 103 which is of the VolP type, the IP data package priority level is defined as 5, then when an IP call is related to this dial-peer 103, the TOS field of the IP header of all the data packages transmitted to the IP network through this dial-peer are set as 5. When the network receives these packages that have been set with a recognized priority levels, these packages will be processed before those packages with relatively lower priority levels..

Example
! The following example configures the IP data package priority level as 5 for the VoIP dial-peer 103. Quidway(config-peer-voip103)# ip precedence 5

Related Command

Usage Guideline
Use a dot . as the wild-card representing a digit. Every digit to be represented needs a wild-card, so if three digits are required to be replaced with wild-cards in an abbreviated number, three dots will be used.

Example
! The following example expands 2118 to 8008302118. Quidway(config)# num-exp 2118 8008302118 ! The following example expands with wild-cards. Quidway(config)# num-exp 2... 8008302...

1.15 operation
To select a wire scheme for the E&M interface, use the operation command. To delete an existing wire selection scheme, use the no form of this command. operation { 2-wire | 4-wire } no operation { 2-wire | 4-wire }

Syntax Description
2-wire Indicate to select a 2-wire E&M wire scheme. 4-wire Indicate to select a 4-wire E&M wire scheme.

Default
By default, select a 4-wire E&M wire scheme.

Command Mode
Voice-port configuration mode

Usage Guideline
When E&M is used in PBX communication, its voice uses two or four wires, plus two or four signaling wires. So, a 4-wire E&M actually has at least six wires. This command is used for the wire match between the voice router and remote end equipment connected with it. It has influence on voice transmission only and has nothing to do with signaling. If a wrong wire scheme is configured, the user will get a unidirectional voice service only. This command is not used to the FXS and FXO interfaces, because these both are 2wire interfaces.

Example
! The following example sets that the E&M interface selects a 4-wire wire scheme. Quidway(config-voice-port1)# operation 4-wire

1.18 prefix
To set the prefix of the telephone number dialed by the dial-peer, use the prefix command. To delete the prefix of the telephone number dialed by the dial-peer, use the no form of this command. prefix string no prefix

Syntax Description
string Prefix code. For it, digits from 0 to 9 and the comma , serving as a time delay, and a character string within 32 characters can be selected. A comma indicates a time delay of 500 ms, and it is up to the configuration of private branch exchange (PBX) connected by the router whether to transmit a second dial tone.

Command Mode
Dial-peer configuration mode

Usage Guideline
When a router with which a voice function is configured receives a voice call, it makes a comparison between the number configured in the destination pattern of its own POTS dial-peer and the number received, and selects one POTS dial-peer to continue the call processing. The router will remove the string of the called number that matches the destination pattern starting from the left. If a prefix is configured, the prefix will be added before the

remaining number string, and the router will make a call according to the new string generated. Suppose the called number is 0102222, the 010 on the left will be deleted because of matching with the destination-pattern. The remaining 2222 will be added with a prefix 0 and will be dialed out again, that is, the number called by the router is 02222, and between the 0 and the first 2 there is a time delay of 500 ms. This command is used only for the POTS dial-peer configuration.

wink-start Wink start mode. The caller end hooks off to seize the line through line E, and it has to wait for a wink signal from the remote end before sending out the called number. immediate Immediate start mode. The caller end hooks off to seize the line through line E and sends the called number. The prerequisite for using the immediate start mode is: The equipment at the remote end should surveil the dial signal immediately after identifying the off-hook signal. delay-dial Delay start mode. The caller end sends an off-hook signal and, after a while, detects the called end status. If the called is in an on-hook status, the caller end will send the called number; but if the called is in an off-hook status, then the caller will keep on waiting until the called hooks on, and the caller end will send the called number. The last three key words are used to E&M interfaces.

Default
By default, FXS and FXO interfaces select the loopstart start mode, and E&M interfaces select the immediate start mode.

Command Mode
Voice-port configuration mode

Usage Guideline
The start mode used for an E&M interface should be in consistency with the PBX connected with it. If the E&M interface is configured with the immediate start mode, some PBXs may lose initial digital signals. In this case, please turn to use the delay-dial start mode.

there is a timeout in the timer but the caller has not hung up, it will send a howling tone to the caller, urging the caller to hang up. Command timeouts initial seconds is used to configure the timer for the system to wait for a user to dial the first digit number. When the user starts to dial, the timer is activated. If there is a timeout in the timer, the user will be prompted to hook on and the call is terminated. Command timeouts interdigit seconds is used to configure the timer for the system to wait for a user to dial the next digit number. Every time the user dials a digit number, the timer restarts till required digits are dialed. If there is a timeout in the timer before the dialing is finished, the user will be prompted to hang up and the call will be terminated. Set the timeout parameter seconds as 0, and the corresponding timer will be disabled.

Example
! The following example configures the dial timeout timer on voice port 1 as 10 seconds. Quidway(config-voice-port1)# timeouts initial 10

1.26 timing

To return to the default, use the no form of this command. timing { delay-duration | delay-start | digit | interdigit | wink-duration | wink-wait } milliseconds no timing { delay-duration | delay-start | digit | interdigit | wink-duration | winkwait }

Syntax Description
delay-duration milliseconds The maximum wait time the caller end waits for the called party to hook on so as to send the DTMF number in the E&M interface delay start mode. The value range is 100 5000 ms. delay-start milliseconds The wait time from the caller end issuing an off-hook signal to detecting the called end status in the E&M interface delay start mode. The value range is 20 2000 ms. digit milliseconds DTMF signal duration. The value range is 50 500 ms.

interdigit milliseconds Time interval between DTMF signals. The value range is 50 500 ms. wink-duration milliseconds The maximum duration of the wink signal the caller receives in the E&M interface wink start mode. The value range is 100 3000 ms. wink-wait milliseconds The maximum time the caller end waits for the receiver end to send a wink signal in the E&M interface wink start mode. The value range is 100 5000 ms.

Default
By default delay-duration milliseconds is 400 ms.

Command Mode
Voice-port configuration mode

Usage Guideline
Command timing delay-duration milliseconds is used to set that in the E&M interface delay start mode, when the caller end detects that the called party is still in an off-hook status, it will not keep waiting. If the called party is still unprepared for receiving a number when the wait time is longer than the set milliseconds , the caller end will give up the connection request and will not wait any longer. Command timing delay-start milliseconds is used to set that in the E&M interface delay start mode, after sending an off-hook signal, the caller will wait for a while and then test the called equipment status. Command timing digit milliseconds is used to set the duration of a DTMF signal. Command timing interdigit milliseconds is used to set the time interval between DTMF signals. Command timing wink-wait milliseconds is used to set the maximum time duration the caller end waits for a wink signal from the receiving end in the E&M interface wink start mode. The above commands are all for the setting of the caller end equipment, so they are effective to the caller end only.

Syntax Description
1, 2, 3 and 5 Correspond respectively to the four signal types of E&M interfaces, i.e. type 1, 2, 3 and 5.

Default
By default the E&M interface signal type is type 5.

Command Mode
Voice-port configuration mode

Usage Guideline
Of the E&M signaling types, a PBX transmits signals on the M line (M means Mouth, indicating it is transmitted from a PBX), and receives signals from E line (E means Ear, indicating it is received by the PBX). So, as to a router that has voice function, the router receives the M signal of the PBX, and transmits E signal to the PBX. E&M interface has four data transmission (signal) lines, and two or all the four lines are used according to different types: E (Ear or Earth): the signal line from the router side to the PBX side. M (Mouth or Magnet): the signal line from the PBX side to the router side. SG (Signal Ground): used for some types of E&M only. SB (Signal Battery): used for some types of E&M only.

Example
! The following example configures voice port 1 E&M interface type as type 3. Quidway(config-voice-port1)# type 3

Usage Guideline
VAD is an abbreviation of Voice Activity Detection, generally termed as silence detection. Its basic idea is to detect and delete any silence on the basis of the difference of energy between the voice signals of peoples conversation and their silence signals, so that no signals are produced; and only when an abrupt activity tone is detected will a voice signal be generated and transmitted. It is shown by research that no less than 50% transmission bandwidth can be attained by the use of VAD technology.

shortest Indicate to perform the match according to the shortest number.

Command Mode
Global configuration mode

Usage Guideline
Command voip match-policy is used to decide if the match is performed according to the longest or the shortest number for the number match. For instance, destinationpattern 0106688 and destination-pattern 01066880011 are respectively configured in two dial-peers. when the user dials 01066880011, if the router is configured with the shortest number match-policy, then the router originates a connection to 0106688 at the remote end, and the four numbers 0011 will not be processed; if the router is configured with the longest number match-policy, and the user only dials 0106688, the router will wait for the user to dial. After timeout, the number match-policy configured with the system is neglected, and the shortest number match-policy will be automatically followed to make a call; if the user dials 0106688# (here the "# represents the dial terminator configured by the system), the router will likewise neglect the number match-policy configured by the system and use the shortest number match-policy, thus providing a greater flexibility for the configuration of user dial scheme.

2.2 fax local-train

To configure the fax local training threshold value, use the fax local-train command. To return to the default, use the no form of this command. fax local-train threshold threshold no fax local-train threshold

Syntax Description
threshold Local training threshold value, ranging 0 to 100.

Default
15

Command Mode
Dial-peer configuration mode

Usage Guideline
When rate training is being carried on between FAXes, the transmitting FAX transmits the 0 TCF data at 1.5s 10% to the receiving FAX, and the receiving FAX decides whether or not the rate is acceptable according to the TCF data received. The command is used to configure the local training threshold value if the local training mode is configured. Error happens during the TCF transmission if 1 appears in the TCF data received. If the number of 1 received is less than the threshold value configured, the transmission is successful, otherwise, it is unsuccessful.

Example
! The following example configures the fax local training threshold to 20. Quidway(config-peer-pots1)# fax local-train threshold 20

2.3 fax protocol

To configure the number of transmitting redundant packets of T38 fax protocol, use the fax protocol command. cisco Using the fax protocol which is compatible with CISCO.

Default
The two kind of redundant packets are 0.

Command Mode
Dial-peer configuration mode

Usage Guideline
The low rate indicates the V21 command data, and the high rate indicates the TCF data and figure data. When connected with CISCO fax terminal, you need to choose CISCO fax protocol. When connected with other fax terminals that support T.38 protocol, you need to choose T.38 protocol. Because CISCO devices do not support the mode of local fax training, you have to adopt the mode of point-to-point training for the connection with CISCO devices.

Example
! The following example configures the number of the transmitting redundant packets of T38 fax protocol to 20. Quidway(config-peer-pots1)# fax protocol t38 hs-redundancy 2

timeslots timeslots-list Specify a timeslot range. The expression includes the single digit, two digits separated by ,, a pair of digits separated by -, or the combination form (e.g., 1-14, 15, 17-31). The value range of digits is the integer from 1 to 31. type signal Specify the binding signaling mode of this DS0 group, which is generally used to configure the signaling mode adopted by the central office. It includes the following types of signaling: l l l l e&m-fgb Specify the signaling mode as the part of supporting B group characteristic in E&M signaling, including the wink start protocol. e&m-immediate-start Specify the signaling mode as the immediate start mode in E&M signaling. fxs-loop-start Specify the FXS interface adopts the self-loop start. r2-digital Specify the signaling mode of adopting ITU-T Q.421 digital line signaling R2, which is the most common configuration signaling. A and B in it are used for transmitting line signaling. l r2-compelled Specify the R2 signaling adopts the multi-frequency compelled mode, and whether to configure the parameter of ani or not will determine whether the caller number is required.

Default
By default signaling (signal) is R2 signaling, and the multi-frequency compelled mode is adopted.

Command Mode
E1 controller port configuration mode

Usage Guideline
The DS0 group is actually the logical voice port abstracted from the physical E1 interface, mainly used for the configuration of R2 signaling and other voice functions. In one E1 interface only one DS0 group can be defined. In defining the timeslot range of DS0 group, the timeslot range can be distributed is 1-15 and 17-31, and the No.16 timeslot is reserved as the transmission channel of the out-of-band signaling. When adopting the e&m-fgb signaling mode, that is, adopting the part of supporting B group characteristic in E&M signaling, the caller end will hook off and hold the line via the E line, and wait a wink signal from the remote end prior to sending the called number. When adopting e&m-immediate-start signaling mode, that is, adopting the immediate start mode, the caller end will hook off and hold the line via the E line and send the called number. The precondition of using the immediate start mode is that the remote equipment will surveil the dial-up signal immediately after identifying the off-hook signal. When adopting fxs-loop-start signaling mode, that is, when the FXS interface is of self-loop start, it indicates that only one of both sides can hook on. When adopting r2-digital signaling mode, that is, the multi-frequency register signals, these signals have the forward ones and backward ones. The forward signals mainly

3-6

User Manual - Command Reference (Volume 3) Versatile Routing Platform

Chapter 3
E1 Voice Configuration Commands

transmit the caller types, call types, and various connection types, while the backward signals are mainly the acknowledgement signals of the forward signals. The so-called compelled mode (r2-compelled) refers to using forward signals mainly to transmit such information as address and control indicator, and using backward signals mainly to acknowledge and control. When the transmit end send a digit, only after receiving the backward acknowledgement can the forward signal end the transmission. Similarly, the receive end can end the transfer of backward signal only after detecting that the transfer of forward signal has been stopped. The advantage of this mode is the high reliability of signal transfer, but the transfer speed is relatively slow over the lines with the long transfer time delay. When configuring the parameter ani , in the called connection the local office will send the A6 signal to the remote office and request the caller number from the remote office. Only after establishing DS0 successfully can the command voice-port be used to enter the voice port and configure the voice-related attributes.

Example
! The following example establishes the DS0 group, with its number being 5, timeslot including 1-31, signaling being the R2 signaling. It adopts the multi-frequency compelled mode and requests positively the caller number from the remote office. Quidway(config-if-E1-0)# ds0-group 5 timeslots 1-31 type r2-digital r2-compelled ani

Default
By default, configure any second dial incoming number.

Command Mode
Dial-peer configuration mode

3-7

User Manual - Command Reference (Volume 3) Versatile Routing Platform

Chapter 3
E1 Voice Configuration Commands

Usage Guideline
Auxiliary configuration is needed on the switch side for implementing the second dial. The PBX switch is required not to delete the incoming number dialed in by the user, so that the switch will send the complete incoming number to the router, and the router will identify the incoming number according to the number specified by the command incoming called-number, and perform the incoming processing. For example, the incoming number dialed in firstly by the user is 17909, and the called number dialed in later is 660066, the router then will identify the incoming number is 17909 according to the configuration of incoming called-number, release the prompt tone, and connect the called user of 660066. When not needing to implement the second dial, the PBX switch is required to delete the incoming number dialed in by the user, so that the switch will transfer the actual called number to the router. And on the router side the command of incoming callednumber is not required to configure. For example, the user dials in 17909660066 at one time, and then the switch will delete 17909 and send the called number of 660066 to the router.

Example
! The following example configures the second dial number as 17909. Quidway(config-peer-pots1)# incoming called-number 17909

Default
By default, A-bit B-bit C-bit D-bit is 0 0 0 0, that is, the function of inversion change is disabled.

Command Mode
R2 signaling configuration mode

Usage Guideline
This command can be used to perform the inversion change to A, B, C, and D bits prior to sending and after receiving the line signal, that is, 0 is changed to 1, and 1 to 0. If the value of one bit is 1, it indicates this bit is needed to invert.

trunk-direction timeslots timeslots-list { in | out | dual } no trunk-direction timeslots timeslots-list

Syntax Description
timeslots-list Specify the range of trunk timeslot. The expression includes the single digit, two digits separated by ,, a pair of digits separated by -, or the combination form (e.g., 1-14, 15, 17-31). The value range of digits is the integer from 1 to 31. in Indicate the trunk is the incoming trunk. out Indicate the trunk is the outgoing trunk. dual Indicate the trunk is the bidirectional trunk.

Default
By default, configure the bidirectional trunk .

Command Mode
R2 signaling configuration mode

Usage Guideline
When configuring the E1 trunk direction as incoming trunk, this trunk will not load any outgoing call. When configuring the E1 trunk direction as outgoing trunk, this trunk can only be used for the outgoing call and not for incoming call. When configuring it as bidirectional trunk, it can load the outgoing call and incoming call respectively according to the initiative of originating call. To normalize the E1 communication, if the E1 trunk adopts the mode of incoming trunk or outgoing trunk, then one end of it must be ensured as incoming and other as outgoing, or the connection will fail. If both ends of E1 trunk adopt the bidirection mode, it is required to use the command of select-mode to adjust the trunk selection policy to avoid the simultaneous hold of timeslot by the two sides of communication. In configuration avoid that one end is bidirectional trunk while the other end is outgoing trunk, or the call from the end configured as the bidirectional trunk will always fail.

3.20 ts
To perform the maintenance of the trunk circuit of the specified timeslot, use the ts command. ts { block | open | query | reset } timeslots timeslots-list

Syntax Description
block Indicate blocking the trunk circuit of the specified timeslot. open Indicate opening the trunk circuit of the specified timeslot. query Indicate querying the trunk circuit of the specified timeslot. reset Indicate resetting the trunk circuit of the specified timeslot. timeslots-list Specify a timeslot range. The expression includes the single digit, two digits separated by ,, a pair of digits separated by -, or the combination form (e.g., 1-14, 15, 17-31). The value range of digits is the integer from 1 to 31.

Command Mode
R2 signaling configuration mode

Usage Guideline
To block the trunk circuit means that the circuit no longer loads the service information, that is, this circuit is set manually as unavailable. To open the trunk circuit is the inverse process of the blocking operation, which can reset the trunk circuit as available and enable it to load service information. To query the trunk circuit will display the busy/idle, opened/blocked status of the circuit in a real time way. To reset the trunk circuit refers to re-initializing the state of trunk circuit. Generally, if the circuit state cannot be restored to normal in blocking or opening the circuit manually, it is required to perform the resetting. If the circuit cannot be reset automatically and correctly because of other reasons,, it is generally required to reset manually the circuit, too.

Example
! The following example resets the circuit of timeslots 1-15 in No.5 DS0 group and queries the status of the circuit of timeslots 1-31. Quidway(config-if-cas0:5)# ts reset timeslots 1-15 Quidway(config-if-cas0:5)# ts query timeslots 1-31

Default
By default A-bit B-bit C-bit D-bit is 1 1 1 1

Command Mode
R2 signaling configuration mode

Usage Guideline
In the R2 signaling A-bit and B-bit are used to transmit the valid information, and the actual transmission signal has nothing to do with the setting value. C-bit and D-bit do not transmit the valid information, and generally the set signal value is adopted as the transmission signals. Therefore, for the R2 signaling, this command only makes sense to C-bit and D-bit.

Chapter 4
GK Client Configuration Commands

For one router only one interface can be specified simultaneously as the gateway interface, or the new specified interface is configured as the gateway interface. If the gateway interface is not specified, to perform other GK Client configurations is meaningless.

Example
! The following example specifies the port of Serial0 as the H.323 gateway interface. Quidway(config-if-Serial0)# ip address 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.0 Quidway(config-if-Serial0)# h323-gateway voip interface

Related Command

Default
By default cisco is configured, i.e., the voice gateway is compatible with the Cisco GK Server.

Command Mode
Interface configuration mode

Usage Guideline
Though all manufacturers implement the GK function according to the ITU-T H.323 protocol, their methods of implementation are not completely the same. Therefore, it must be ensured that the router voice gateway adopts the same information processing mode (i.e., the same interworking mode) in its interworking with the GK Server, or the normal communication cannot be established between the gateway and the gate keeper.

Example
! The following example configures the GK interworking mode as huawei. Quidway(config-if-Serial0)# h323-gateway voip support-mode huawei

4.6 h323-gateway voip tech-prefix

To configure the tech-prefix used by the GK Server to identify the gateway type, use the h323-gateway voip tech-prefix command. To delete the tech-prefix, use the no form of this command. h323-gateway voip tech-prefix string no h323-gateway voip tech-prefix [ string ]

Syntax Description
string Indicate the character string of the tech-prefix, with the value range being the combination of the digits of 0-9 and #.

Default
By default, no tech-prefix is specified.

Command Mode
Interface configuration mode

Usage Guideline
The tech-prefix is mainly used to facilitate the identifying of gateway type by the GK Server. The gateway and the GK Server reach an agreement on the gateway type in advance, for example, consider that the tech-prefix 1# represents the voice gateway and that the tech-prefix 2# represents the video gateway, etc. When the gateway communicates normally with the GK Server, the GK will judge the gateway type according to the tech-prefix information sent by the gateway. One gateway interface can be configured with 10 tech-prefixes at the most. When using the command no h323-gateway voip tech-prefix without parameters, all the tech-prefixes will be deleted.

Example
! The following example configures the tech-prefix as 3# for the gateway type identified by the GK Server. Quidway(config-if-Serial0)# h323-gateway voip tech-prefix 3#
