1. Re: When do we use has, have and had?

I'm confused about when to use has, have, and had. I've googled a lot but non of them are helpful. Can anyone give me detail explanation? I only know has/have/had + past participle. That's all. I always mess up with present tense and present perfect tense. Someone help me please... The verb "to have" present tense: I have He, she, it has You have We have They have Past tense: I/he/you/we/they had. "I have a computer." "S/he has a computer." "John had a computer, but he doesn't have it any more." Does that help?

This is rather too broad a question to answer in one thread. Do you understand the difference between the meanings of these groups of sentences? 1. Present Simple:() a.I have a headache. b. She has a headache. c. I work in Prague. 2. Past Simple.(.) a. I had a headache yesterday. b. She had a headache yesterday. c. I worked in Oman from 2004 to 2005. 3. Present Perfect. () a. I have had a headache since seven o'clock/for three hours. b. She has had a headache since she got up/for three hours. c. I have worked in Prague since 20005/for seven years.

1. Present Simple: a.I have a headache.(having headache now-happening now) b. She has a headache.(same as a.-happening now) c. I work in Prague.(Working in prague-happening now) 2. Past Simple. a. I had a headache yesterday.(My headache is gone, i had it yesterday) b. She had a headache yesterday.(same) c. I worked in Oman from 2004 to 2005.(I worked there before and now I'm working at different place) 3. Present Perfect. a. I have had a headache since I seven o'clock/for three hours. b. She has had a headache since she got up/for three hours. c. I have worked in Prague since 20005/for seven years.( I only get to understand this. The above, not sure.) I know has have had don't mention time/date right? That's why you used I WORKED in Oman instead of I have worked in oman from 2004 to 2005?

What about.. I spent my money on that game/I have spent my money on that game. Both of them are correct? Yes, both are correct, the second one is present perfect.
