Several new features have been introduced in this release of Atoll Microwave 3.2.0 made available on 24 April 2013. These new features and other changes are described below. Youcanmarkoverlappingmicrowavelinksonthemap.Youcandothesameforoverlapping"othertransmission"links. Anexportreporticonhasbeenaddedinthemicrowavetoolbar. Inadditiontothechannelnumber,Atollindicatesthenameoftheanalysedchannelinthelinkbudgetreport. ThefollowingVigantsclimatezonesarenowsupported:GreatLakesAreas,GulfCoasts,HawaiiCaribbean,AlaskaCoastsandAlaska Inland. ThepropertiesoftheEBandpropagationmodelhavebeenimproved.Youcandefinetheresolutiontobeusedtoextracttheprofile andthecoefficients,A1andAlpha,consideredinthevegetationlossescalculation. Theroughnesscalculationisbasedonthegroundaltitudeonly.Youcanconsiderboththegroundaltitudeandtheclutterheightin thecalculationbyeditingtheatoll.inifile.Formoreinformation,seetheAdministratorManual. Thereflectionanalysishasbeenenhanced: Themeaningofcoloursusedforthedisplayofreflectionzones(green,orange,andred)haschanged. TheattenuationthresholdcanbenowconfiguredintheParametersforreflectionanalysisofthelinkdialogbox.Inthereflection analysis,Atollcomparesthemaximumattenuationexperiencedbythedirectsignaltotheattenuationthreshold.Whenthisfigure isexceeded,thereflectionaltersthedirectsignal.

UserInterface A new folder, Online Maps, has been added in the Geo explorer allowing you to specify a thirdparty tile server and display the correspondingmapinthemapwindow. YoucanautomaticallycentrethemapwindowonanareabyspecifyingapostaladdressintheFindonMapwindow. Whenyouexport/importvectordata,thecorrespondingdisplayconfigurationisexported/importedsimultaneously.Youcanchange thisbehaviourbydefininganoptionintheatoll.inifile. YoucanhidethetechnologynamedisplayedintheAtolltitlebarbyaddinganoptionintheatoll.inifile.

On the Radio tab of a links Properties dialogue, the channel allocated to a site is now followed by the corresponding frequency in brackets.Notethatchannelscanonlybeaccessedwhenafrequencysubbandisselected. Atoll enables you to export various output data (i.e., link parameters, calculation results, etc.) with a userdefined layout in different formats.Beforeexportingthereport,youhavetocreateatemplateinthedesiredformat,withthekeywordsassociatedtooutputsthat you want to export. This template must have the desired layout. The list of keywords is available in the file MWReportKeywords.xlsx locatedintheAtollinstallationfolder.TemplatescanbedownloadedfromtheForskSupportwebsite. Inadditiontomicrowavelinks,twonewtypesoftransmissionlinkscanbedefined:FO(fibreoptics)andLL(leasedline).Newtransmission linksbasedonthesenewtypesarelistedinanewfoldercalledOtherTransmissionLinks. Whendefininglineofsightparameters,youcannowspecificallydefinethedefaultantennaheightsrelativetogroundor toclutter,on bothtransmitterandreceiversides.Howeveryoucanonlydefineantennaheightsperclutterclassonthereceiverside. Youcandefineadefaultconfigurationfileforeachlinkbudgetreportbysettingaspecificoptionintheatoll.inifile. The"MWReportKeywords.xlsx"filehasbeenmovedtothe"reports"folderintheAtollinstallationdirectory.

MicrowaveNetwork
AtollallowsyoutomodelEBandfixedpointtopointnetworks. Newfrequencybandandrelatedsubbandshavebeendefined. BPSKmodulationhasbeenaddedtotheModulationstableandanewradiosuitedforEBandisavailable. A new propagation model suited for EBand networks (Microwave EBand Propagation Model) can be used to calculate useful and interferingsignals.

MicrowaveSettings
The frequency subband definition has been improved. You can now enter channels and frequencies manually. Additionally, you can defineprefixesandsuffixestobeusedfornamingchannels. Microwave link parameters (transmitted powerrelated information, list of available modulations, model of the diversity antenna and separation between the main and diversity antennas, frequency subband and the geoclimatic factor) have been added to the Link Templatetablesothattheyareautomaticallydefinedwhencreatinganewmicrowavelinkbasedonalinktemplate. TheOperationModestablehasbeenaddedinordertomanagethetypesofoperationmodesthatradiossupport,andtheirnames. Inadditiontomicrowavelinks,Atollenablesyoutomodelothertransmissionlinkssuchasleasedlinesoropticalfibres.Youcandefine thetypesoftransmissionlinkswiththeircharacteristicsintheParametersexplorer.AdedicatedfolderisalsoavailableintheNetwork explorerinordertomanageothertransmissionlinksandmicrowavelinksseparately.

MicrowaveEquipment
In addition to the standard and high powers, you can define a low power in the radio series properties dialogue. It corresponds to the maximumoutputpowerforthelowpower(LP)ODUconfiguration. Anewoptioninthelinkpropertiesdialogueallowsyoutoconsiderthesameoutputpowerwhenusingadaptivemodulation.
