This case study mainly revolves around the protagonist Amy, an investment banker at B&B firm and her roomie and dear buddy Lori, who happens to be an analyst at Universal Banks capital finance group. The situation puts Amy at crossroads, where her true character will be tested. In the past, in order to solve problems, she admits to have always taken an honest approach .Or lets say, Amy has always acted the correct way, pertaining to the law. However, here there is no single perfect avenue to pick from and the stakes are really high. To add her woes, she cannot share the whole story with friend, Lori as well as adviser, Steven .The situation is incumbent upon her to act as soon as possible, definitely wasting least possible time. As I look back into the case, both ladies Amy and Lori, though mere analysts, hold key information in this high profile business transaction, leveraged buyout of Suntech. The financial as well as physical implications are large, based on the information each one has. Let us further analyze Amys standpoint and trickledown effect; her decision could have on stakeholders and organizations in contention. Amy is an ambitious, devoted, committed and loyal employee of B&B. She lives her job as an investment banker and possibly likes every aspect of it ,from the tough deadlines, heavy workload to her ambient work environment, made all the more conducive by Stevens guidance. After work, she and Lori generally share events and work pressures, but they do respect the line drawn to respect confidentiality of information defined implicitly by their respective jobs. This time though, Amy happens to know a lot more about Suntech deal, supposedly a landmark event for her firm. Lori, having lost her job at Universal Bank ,let go of her emotions and shared with Amy what turnaround of events led her to this end. The Bank has decided to make a last minute roll back on all previous proceedings and dissolve Loris team. Amy contemplates the repercussions this event could have on B&B. The firm has to immediately find another agent bank that could finance the deal, knowing debt interest rates will definitely rise at this hour. Additionally, Chances of generating money from the high yield bond market looks bleak, as investor sentiment would

already be down. Amy feels Universal Bank is grossly unethical. She considers, how B&B firm and lives of stakeholders, including herself and Steven could be better, in case she decides to spill the beans. In case she reveals the news, the firm would get ample lead time to act together and put the deal back in shape. Lori certainly will not appreciate this step, but then she belongs to a different school of thought regarding dedication and loyalty towards job. Well, Lori either way is losing her job. On the contrary, Amy is highly obligated to Lori. Lori though a year senior to Amy has always been a true friend, who has always gone an extra mile to help Amy, be it graduation or job till date. In fact, Amy got her job in B&B through a contact Lori provided. Owing to the chemistry they share, Lori decided to share her sorry state of affairs with Amy. Lori expects Amy to keep her word. The decision evidently is subjective rather than objective. It is Amys call, but if I were Amy I would have decided to take the tough call and shut up. I would have valued my word to Lori .Despite knowing the upcoming events about to befall upon the firm; I would have valued my core values more than presumably loyal steps that would benefit the firm. Firm has to deal with this downward growth curve .I shall oblige, learn to develop the mettle to handle such phases of business too. Moreover, I believe if I divulge the information now, I would certainly have a short term professional growth spike, but in the long run I would be branded as a person, who can disrespect information labeled privy.
