The Lowest O on Earth!
Dead Sea and Amiaz Plain
Sunday, August 16, 2009

How Low Can You O?

Approximately 420 meters below sea level, the shoreline of the Dead Sea is the lowest
elevation on earth. The Dead Sea is also one of the saltiest bodies of water in the world.
This unusually high concentration of salt creates a natural buoyancy, meaning anyone can
easily float in the Dead Sea.

Unfortunately, floating does not work with
bikes!

The organizing committee considered placing

some controls on the water, but decided
instead to lay the course a few meters higher
in the Plain of Amiaz.

With no trees or vegetation, a scorching sun,

blistering temperatures, and parched terrain,
the conditions will certainly be challenging.

But we guarantee you an experience you’ll

never forget.
