Against All Odds

The Declaration of Independence was a statement against all odds. To some, it could have been called, The Declaration of Insanity. How could thirteen fledgling colonies win a war against the mother country? How could rough pioneers and poor farmers advance against a highly-trained military? How could an under-paid, poorly-clothed, and ill-fed bunch of soldiers fight the deep pockets of support flowing to the enemy? But they did. Signers of the Declaration of Independence pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to stand by what they had signed. And by the time the war was over, they had indeed given their lives and fortunes. Of the fifty-six who signed, every one of them suffered deeply through the war. Like the idea of independence in 1776, the idea of revival doesnt look very plausible. The odds are stacked against us. Lawmakers bent on legalizing godless lifestyles, judges who care nothing for our nations founding documents, citizens who resist and outright reject Christian influence in societycan revival happen today? I believe it cansimply because of II Chronicles 7:14. Yes, the odds are great. But Im concerned our carelessness is greater. We complain about the state of our nation, but we do little to confront it. If we will overcome our greatest obstacle complacencyI believe we can see revival in America today. Against all odds we can see revival, but only if we confront the odds.

Our Dilemma: We are, by nature, sinners who stand guilty and condemned before our Creator and Judge. In our thoughts and actions, we have disobeyed His perfect standards. We are sinners. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23 Our Inability: We are helpless to save ourselves. Forgiveness is a gift to be received, not a reward that can be earned. We need a Saviour. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23 Our Saviour: Because of His love for us, God provided salvation through His Son, Jesus. He became a member of the human family, lived sinlessly, and died on the cross to pay for our sins. Jesus is the Saviour! For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 Our Response: Salvation is an individual matter and requires a personal response on the part of anyone that wants to be saved. All who acknowledge their sin and place their trust in Christ are adopted as Gods children. Whisper a sincere prayer and invite Christ to save you. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13

Our church operates effectively because our membership volunteers tirelessly for the Lord when needs arise. Our church needs someone to volunteer to flush out the gutters at the church and parsonage. We also need capable people to power wash and apply concrete sealer to our concrete entrances. It would also be helpful if someone would power wash the vinyl siding at the church and parsonage.

The New Testament Baptist Church booth at the Farm Show requires many volunteers. If you can arrange your schedule to help us, it would be greatly appreciated.

Out of respect for your loved ones and those in attendance, we ask parents to use our clean & well-equipped nursery. This free service is available for newborns and infants (birth through 24 months). Your cooperation is needed and appreciated. Assistance is available at the Welcome Center.
