INTERACTIVE APPROACH TO PHYSICS AND HISTORY

Aleksandra Vagele, Natalija Dektereva, Daugavpils Saskanas Primary school

Integrated lesson allows the student to apply the theoretical knowledge in practice, to broaden their outlook and to explore some aspects of the topic more deeply. The teacher has the opportunity to apply a wider range of methods in one lesson. In the table bellow you can see the example of the integrated lesson on the history and physics, using the elements of computer science. Topic: Pupils age: Aim: Integrated lesson on Physics and History "The Scientific Revolution in the 18th 19th centuries" 13-14 years Strengthen and expand the knowledge on the topic "The Scientific

Revolution in the 18th 19th centuries" Acquired knowledge to develop group work skills; and skills: to strengthen the skills of cooperation; to strengthen their skills in dealing with set goals; The forms to strengthen the use of knowledge in practice. and Work in groups, individual work, presentation, practical work, video

methods of the work: Evaluation forms and Self-evaluation of pupilss knowledge and their work in the classroom methods of pupils' 1. 2. Organisational part Working with the film http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soxkbaOMdd8 Pupils watch the film, which demonstrates both covered material and the new one. On the previously distributed blank sheet, the students put only 2 kinds of characters: + if they know the fact and ! in case the fact is new for them. After the film the students list the facts they knew before. 3. Divide students into pairs (Appendix Nr.1) In advance the teacher cuts the table into cells. Each student is given a slip of paper with either the scientists name or their invention. The learning achievement: Lesson plan:

pupils have some time to find their pair and match the scientist with the invention. Then each pair reads their sentence aloud. The teacher checks and if it is necessary, corrects. 4. Working with Morse code (Appendix Nr.2) Each pair of students is given the Morse code. Each pair encodes its sentence in Morse code. Pairs exchange slips of paper and decrypt information. Each pair read its transcript. 5. Working with presentation Heat Engines (Appendix Nr.3) 6. Self-evaluation of pupils knowledge and their work in the classroom (Appendix Nr.4) The teacher prepares a list A2 with the scale of assessments and the number of students in the class beforehand and also distributes colored drawing pins. Each student using the pin evaluates their work under any serial number. Using the graph we obtained, the teacher together with Teaching aids and the pupils assesses the work of the whole class. 1.
