Senior Product Design Position

Job Description: Currently, CBD Groups Beijing office is looking for a Senior Industrial designer to join us in the development of home appliances and consumer-electronic products for the domestic and global markets of some of Chinas largest and fastest growing manufacturers and brands. You will be working alongside our multi-disciplinary team of Industrial Designers, Engineers and Marketing/Brand Strategists. You will be working directly under the Design Manager, but will be independently managing design projects and their corresponding design teams. A certain amount of management experience is therefore required. Responsibilities: Manage and guide the design processes from the initial market research and concept generation through to the mock-up and production phases and the eventual presentation to our clients; Planning, scheduling and organizing design activities, as well as reporting them to the management. Coordination with other product design activities of CBD, arranging resources and time with the management team; Organize, meet and manage deadlines; Client presentations; Working together with our marketing team to investigate and anticipate on our clients needs and expectations; Participate in the further development and growth of our design team. Your profile: You are passionate about design and are looking for a leadership role in a multi-cultural design team. You are an excellent communicator and you are not afraid to speak your mind. You are self-driven, multidisciplinary and result oriented. You are a team-player, but you are also very capable of working- and solving problems independently and you feel responsible for your personal input. You possess excellent organisational skills and you have a businesslike and professional attitude. Your perception of management is to lead by example and you always look to inspire the people you work with. You are reliable and comfortable in dealing with senior management and external stakeholders. And lastly, you are immune to stress and never afraid of deadlines.

Qualifications and skill requirements: MSc of Industrial Design, or equivalent; Minimum of 6 years working experience as an Industrial Designer as well as relevant managerial experience; Fluent in written- and spoken English; Excellent skills in 2D rendering and 3D modelling and rendering skills (Adobe Photoshop; Rhinoceros, Pro-E or Solid-works a plus) as well as MS Office software; Professional business mindset (knowledge of Chinese companies and markets are a plus); Experience in home appliance and consumer electronic fields are a plus.
