Furthermore, the ladder should not be treated as a regular working position. It may be used occasionally for short jobs. Similarly, given the risk involved, working above one another is prohibited. To provide lighting from the shaft to the start of the work site, install and attach a class II - IP 55 halogen floodlight to the masonry for approval. Individual safety equipment must be inspected by an accredited body (A.I.F) once a year. (Safety harness, strap reel, two-metre lanyard for harness, snap hooks for harness, Rup Chuck and Rup Chuck lanyard.) In general, the regulations governing the safety of workers in the workplace must always be observed.
!
Shaft work:
Important: when working either from the landing or from the car roof, always bear in mind the possibility of becoming trapped. Take plenty of precautions: Use the switch on the car roof Keep the doors in the open position when working from the landing. Never shunt the lock contacts with a fixed shunt. When working on a car roof which is not fitted with guard rails, use of the safety harness together with the fall-arresting strap reel is mandatory. Never leave a car roof via any opening other than a landing door after restoring the lift to normal operation. (There is a risk that the car might suddenly start).
