Senior Health Program Representative - State of Delaware - Department of Health and Social Services Division of Public Health, Newborn Screening Program Dover, Delaware December 2004 to Present Responsible for supporting the Delaware Newborn Screening Program by providing analysis for abnormal results detected on newborn screens including case, report, and case management system reviews.
Follow up for abnormal newborn screening results includes: Daily case review which includes determining what further follow up needs to be taken and closing cases Reviewing cases with the Newborn Screening Program Genetics Medical Director, making and receiving phone calls, and faxing and/or mailing letters Entering definitive diagnosis and closing cases when necessary Reviewing open cases on the abnormal case review report with the Newborn Screening Program Genetics Medical Director Reviewing information in the WIC, CHCIS, and Vitals systems for updated or correct information on infants phone numbers and addresses Case management system Test various reports and other items for CMS and MSDS case management systems Maintain records for newborns born in the State of Delaware Quality Assurance (QA) Review quality assurance issues with hospital staff and other issues regarding the Newborn Screening Program Review compliance with the Newborn Screening Program Regulations and policies and procedures Meetings Attend monthly team meetings with laboratory and follow up staff Participate at the Newborn Screening Program Advisory Committee and Formula Fund meetings, which are held three times per year

Identify process improvements to reduce the length of time for screening infants, which enabled faster access to records Improve the time of primary care physician notification and time of repeat screens
