Team Ground Rules and Guidelines What are the general expectations for all members of the team? All members of the team are expected to contribute and communicate regarding team assignments, questions, and team meetings. All assignments must be completed at least 24 hours prior to submission. Team members shall communicate effectively. A designated day shall be chosen collectively for check-in on team thread. Team members shall utilize alternative means of communication other than the university via phone calls, text messaging, and/or email. Team project contributions shall be assigned at the beginning of the week. Full cooperation is expected from each team member. If a member is unable to complete their assignment, 24-48 hour notification shall be provided to all team members in an effort to provide alternative means of reassigning the incomplete. Due dates are very important- losing points as a team for a late assignment is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. All members are responsible for their part of the assignment. Lisa- The general expectations of the group are to work together on all team assignments. Our common goal is to achieve team excellence through group collaboration, leadership growth,

personal growth, and individual understanding. In using all of our resources, we aim to achieve a high level of academic performance. We agree that group understanding is the ultimate goal and the importance that each team member will fully understand the elements of a group project before it is submitted. As a group, we will strive to ensure each members goals are met and that each team member secures the skills necessary for success. We will also work to identify and help improve on each team members weaknesses in addition to respecting all ideas, backgrounds, and cultures for effective communication amongst all the individuals in the group. All work will be completed in a timely manner to equally include each members insight and citations of researched information. It is important to effectively communicate with each other by ensuring that each team member understands what is expected. Emily- Each member of the team have expectations that need to be met to make sure that each of our assignments are submitted to the team in a timely manner and responding back and forth to let the other team members know where we are all sitting, We all need to be open to help each other out as we are all team members, and that if there are times on emergencies we all need to remember to help one another out to ensure the teams portion gets turned in on time.

Expectations for Time Management and Involvement (Participation, communication with the team, accessibility, etc.) Participation in each team assignment is a must. Communicate with the team if you are having trouble grasping the assignment and/or need help with anything. If you say you are going to do something or be somewhere, hold your end up, if you cannot hold up your end, communicate with the team to let us know what is going on. As we are all adults, it is the responsibility of each member of the team to play their part and contribute constructively to the team. There should be no micromanagement or intimidation between members as we are expected to work hard at achieving our goals. If a team member is not contributing or collaborating effectively, it is important to probe and find out what is the cause. It would be a good idea to set up a conference call and discuss areas that individuals may be having problems. If and when there are conflicts, we should discuss them among each other and try to resolve before it before it escalates. The team should communicate on agreed days and times to discuss and help each other in areas of difficulty. If team members are unable to meet, an email should be sent prior and provide that member with missed data and update us all on what they are working on with the team assignment. Lisa- Communication is important for the completion of assignments. We will exchange phone numbers, e-mail addresses, and times that we may collaborate on any team assignments. This is important not only for the proper planning of assignments but also to ensure that each team member is providing participation of equally designated portion for the project. Group members are expected to attend all team meetings and be on time. Team members are expected to turn in all assigned work on or before the due date as specified by the team lead in the team forum, which should be a minimum of three days prior to the assignment due date. Work is to be completed in a professional manner and any problems should be addressed quickly to determine a new course of action and still complete the assignment in a timely manner. While one team member may be assigned a specific task, he or she should seek assistance on anything not

understood. We will primarily communicate through the Team forum. Additionally, we will use email and make phone calls if necessary for quicker communication. The team members will discuss the course of action that should be taken if a team member fails to attend a planning session or participate in team assignments. Team members are required to attend any scheduled phone meetings. If any individual one cannot attend a phone meeting or cannot fully participate in a team assignment, the team must be notified in adequate time prior to the assignments due date (a weeks advance notice). Each member is to check into the forum daily to acknowledge new posts.
Emily- In order to have a successful team we need to remember our portions and be responsible to turn each of our parts in to the team in a timely manner working as were all the team leader. I personally feel that a team can also be very successful if we are communicating with our team members daily or at least every 2 days informing them on your process and what is working and what you may need help with.

Ensuring Fair and Even Contribution and Collaboration What strategy will you use to ensure that all team members are contributing and collaborating appropriately? Describe the communication strategy you will use if a team member is not contributing and collaborating effectively. How will the team manage conflicts between team members? Each member will be given part of the team assignment to complete. If a team member is not contributing or collaborating we need to talk to each other and see what is going on and see how we can resolve the issue. Conflict between team members will be dealt with the same as when a member is not contributing or collaborating, by talking to each other and resolving the conflict at hand. Lisa- Weekly team assignments should be equally divided amongst the members of the team, and post those assignments in the Team A forum by the scheduled due date. The scheduled due date should be a minimum of three days in advanced of the Team Assignment due to the instructor to ensure that each team member has fulfilled his or her obligation of the assignment. This will also provide the team the capability to read, offer suggestions (feedback), and make any necessary corrections. Team members will facilitate a supportive environment showing respect for each team member. We will not criticize ideas and will communicate effectively to mitigate conflict. Demonstrating fairness and contributing to the assignments is imperative for each team member to display. The key word is team which stand for two or more gather to express different ideas and opinion to achieve a mutual goal. If one member is not participating in the group discussions then it defeats the purpose of having a collaboration group and it is not fair to the other members. The team members should work their hardest to ensure everyones standards for each group assignment are met. When a team member(s) are not working or not participating, the team shall proceed. However, failure to provide participation in an assignment will result in that team members name missing in that particular assignment because of his/her lack of participation. Each team member should be responsible for their involvement in their portions of the assignment. If a team member is unable to complete his or her part for any reason, it is their responsibility to immediately notify the rest of the team. In this situation the

team will discuss the steps necessary to complete the assignment. For instance, another member may help with the assigned task, or the task may be divided among several members. . Emily- A great to ensure that everyone is contributing is by having a date that everyone needs to have their portions in by to the team so that everyone can work on complying them, putting through plagiarizer certificate of originality, and sent through write point. If someone is causing problem we should maybe talk to them and see if theyre having issues with work/family, stumped on assignment, etc. to see if you can help if not may approach the professor and let them know to see if that helps. Special Considerations What do you, as a team, agree will make this team experience different from past team experiences? The first thing to understand as a team is there are no Is in the word team and each voice of opinion is counted. As a team, each member has the right to interject and ask questions if there is uncertainty. Team leaders will be selected weekly to ensure each member receives coverage. Team A will agree that we will all work together and successfully complete the assignments week after week. We will be focused and prioritize to ensure the work is completed satisfactory and on time. Please utilize the use of the contact information if we have not heard from a team member. Lisa- Effective communication amongst team members is a critical element in the success or failure of any team. The difference between my team members presently and my past experience with others; is that each person is willing to participate and do what is needed to complete the assignment. My team members are open for new and different ideas, which make a terrific collaboration group. We as a group have respect for one another as team members along with as individual people. Everyone needs to keep each team member up to date on any issues. Emily- A way to have a great team is to work as a team by either someone volunteering to be a team leader each week or having each member as team leader where everyone is in charge. I had an experience with one of my last classes where people would nominate people at the very end of the week and expect them to compile everything within a few hours.
