1.

Basic Refrigeration Trainer and Program for System Performance

In this project, the students will have experience and better understanding about refrigeration system and equipment. The project will include developing equipment and teaching material. Features of developed equipment are as follows:
1. Teaching methodology using animation and narration explanation voice completed with job sheet and manual equipment. 2. Cycle composition: compressor condenser filter dryer sight glass expansion valve evaporator compressor. 3. Can be operated manually or using PLC control system, equipped by textbook and manual experiment. 4. Completed with software for Specification or Refrigerator Performance Automatic Measuring and Data Acquisition and System Monitoring Program.

Measure temperature at compressor inlet and outlet, condenser inlet and outlet, expansion valve inlet and outlet, evaporator outlet, inside and outside chamber using thermo couple sensors.

Measure of pressure within the range of -1 bar up to 35 bar at each of compressor inlet and outlet, condenser outlet, expansion valve outlet and evaporator inlet by pressure sensors.

Measure of factors: refrigeration effect, compressor work, condensing effect, evaporating latent heat, amount of flash gas at expansion valve outlet, dry rate and humidity at expansion valve outlet and coefficient of performance (COP) in the abstract with measured temperature and pressure data.

5. Completed with textbook related with refrigeration (theory, performance test and troubleshoot) and automatic control experiment (sequence, PLC) 6. Windows based automatic measurement system, Excel transfer capability using RS232 interface. 7. Data acquisition systems function:
a. Real-time temperature, pressure data and view b. Real time data of enthalpy on a diagram (P-H chart) of standard refrigeration system. c. Real-time monitoring factors like as refrigeration effect, compressor work, condensing heat in condenser, evaporating latent heat, amount of flash gas, dry ratio, humidity at expansion valve outlet, coefficient of performance (COP) in the abstract with temperature and pressure data. d. Temperature, pressure and enthalpy data automatically saved every minute. e. Evaporation experiment: various evaporation loads, various evaporation pressure, various evaporation temperature and super heating. f. Condensation experiment: over condensing operation and over condensing load operation. g. Compressing experiment: wet compressing operation, super heat compressing operation and dry saturation compressing operation.

8. Teaching material that cover detail and comprehensive explanation about:


a. Operation description of circuit using a switch, contact circuit using a Magnetic contactor, contact circuit using a relay, a basic refrigeration circuit using a magnetic contactor and relay. b. Operation of a basic refrigeration system by a self return circuit for priority stopping and running. c. Description of circuit for low and high temperature control by a thermal switch. d. Description of circuit for low and high pressure control (LPS) by a pressure switch. e. Description of a series circuit for low temperature and low pressure by a thermal switch and a pressure switch in basic refrigeration system. f. Description of a circuit for pump down control in basic refrigeration system.

2. Principle of Measuring Temperature, Pressure and Defrost Control Refrigeration Training Unit

In this project, the students will have experience and better understanding about principle of measuring temperature, pressure and defrost controll system on a refrigeration system. The project will include developing equipment and teaching material. Features of developed equipment are as follows:
1. Teaching methodology using animation and narration explanation voice complete with job sheet and manual equipment. 2. Cycle system: compressor condenser receiver filter dryer sight glass solenoid valve heat exchanger expansion valve evaporator heat exchanger liquid separator compressor. 3. Hot gas-defrost cycle: compressor solenoid valve capillary tube evaporator heat exchanger liquid separator compressor. 4. Can be operate on manual or using PLC control system, to control thermal control of pump down, and hot gas defrost. 5. Function of refrigeration performance automatic measuring data acquisition equipment and system monitoring program.

Measure temperature at each of compressor inlet and outlet, condenser inlet and outlet, expansion valve inlet and outlet, evaporator outlet, heat exchanger (gas) inlet and outlet, inside chamber and outside using thermo couples. 7. Measure of pressure within the range of -1 bar up to 35 bar at each of compressor inlet and outlet, condenser outlet, expansion valve outlet, and evaporator inlet by pressure sensors. 8. Operating performance test of air cooling and cold storage performance test by increasing and decreasing air cooling and storage load performance test for the proper refrigerant charging. 12. Operation description of circuit using a switch, contact circuit using a magnetic contactor, contact circuit using a relay, a basic refrigeration circuit using a magnetic contactor and relay. b. Operation of basic refrigeration system by a self return circuit for priority stopping and running. Description of a circuit for low and high temperature control by a thermal switch, a circuit for low and high pressure control by a pressure switch of a series circuit for low temperature and low pressure by a thermal switch and a pressure switch basic refrigeration system, of a circuit for pump down control in basic refrigeration system. c. Operation of a circuit for high pressure control by a pressure switch manual and auto return. d. Operation of a series circuit for low temperature and low pressure by a thermal switch hand a pressure switch in defrost refrigeration system. e. Operation of the circuit for pump down control and hot gas defrost refrigeration system.

3. Real Wiring Refrigeration Automatic Control Trainer

In this project, the students will have experience and better understanding about refrigeration equipment wiring system. The project will include developing equipment and teaching material. Features of developed equipment are as follows:
1. Able to practice the skill related with control of temperature, pressure, power and defrost, can be connected with a mechanical refrigeration system using PC. 2. To adopt safe DC 24 V input power experiment and practice. 3. Perform laboratory experiments function with the primary circuit with configuration such as: AND, OR, NOT, NAND, NOR configuration circuit. Experiment of motor running or reversing using interlock circuit. 4. Perform test after make real wiring of electrical circuit system, perform basic circuit and practical in wiring power electrical step by step. 5. Practicing to make circuit controlled by every kind electric control valves such as: MC switch, relay, push button, select switch, toggle switch, buzzer, timer, defrost time, power lamp, operation lamp, stop lamp with several kind of circuit.

6. Data acquisition function:


a. Real-time temperature, pressure data and graph view. b. Real-time data of enthalpy on diagram of standard refrigeration system. c. Real-time monitoring factors like as refrigeration effect, compressor work, condensing dry ratio at expansion valve outlet, humidity at expansion valve outlet, coefficient of performance in the abstract with temperature and pressure data which are measure in real time. d. Saved data of temperature, pressure and enthalpy every time. e. Evaporation experiment: various evaporation loads, various evaporation pressure, various evaporation temperature and super heating. f. Condensing experiment: over condensing operation and over condensing load operation.

g. Compressing experiment: wet compressing operation, super heat compressing


operation and dry saturation compressing operation.
